어린 시절의 가정교육의 중요성 새창으로 읽기

碩.博士課程에서 BASIC computer language를 많이 사용했습니다. Bill(1950년
생)이 14세 때 개발한 것을 1978부터 제가 한 때 사용한 셈입니다. Bill Gates
自敍傳 23장 Summary는 다음과 같습니다. 

 

In Bill’s deeply personal narrative, Bill reflects on a pivotal moment
marked by his father’s unexpected decision to decline a prestigious
federal judgeship. Despite having long aspired to such a role, his father
chose loyalty to Bill’s struggling law firm and respect for Bill’s man’
thriving career over personal advancement. Bill, immersed in the intense
task of coding a disc version of BASIC, responds with a rare, heartfelt
letter-an effort to express understanding, maturity, and independence. The
exchange, modest in emotional display yet rich in meaning, marks a quiet
shift in their relationship, as both father and son acknowledge each
other's values, responsibilities, and mutual respect. His father’s later
reply confirm‎s that the son’s financial needs were not a factor, affirming
his contentment with his choice and his pride in his son's growing self-
reliance.

 
"직장(회사) 조직생활을 하게되면, 너는 계획(plan)을 가지고 있어야하고,
근면성실(deliberate)해야 하며, 목적(goal)를 세워야 하고, 그것들을 이루기
위해서 열심히 일해야한다 (work out)."

위 말은 Bill’s father가 13 - 14세 중학생 Bill 에게 가정교육의 일환으로,
반복적으로 교육한 내용입니다. 이것은 Bill Gates_ Sourcecodes (the first
Bill’s Autograpy) 에 나온 말입니다.

23장중에서, 위 Bill 아버지의 가정교육이 가장 마음에 와 닿아습니다. 農夫인
제 아버지로 부터 이런 류의 얘기를 들어본 바가 없기때문입니다.

앞으로 제 2, 제 3권의  Bill 自敍傳이 나온다고 하니 기대됩니다.
