Did Jesus ever quote the Apocrypha? Never!

After the Resurrection, Jesus told the disciples as follows:

Luke 24:

44 And he said unto them, these are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Jesus mentions:

 Moses (Torah), Prophets (Neviim), Psalms (Ketuviim=Writings)

In this Bible, Malachi is right after the middle of OT and is before Psalm. Psalm is behind Isaiah, Ezekiel, 12 minor prophets (Zechariah, Malachi)

Psalm includes: Psalm, Proverb, Song of Songs, Ecclesiasts, Daniel, Job, and Chronicles as the last book of the OT.

Septuagint has the order different from what Jesus said.

Even if there are some variety of the orders of Septuagint depending on the manuscripts, in general, the order of Septuagint which is abbreviated as LXX is the following:

Pentateuch

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy

History Books:

Joshua Judges Kings 1,2 (Samuel 1,2), Kings 3,4 (Kings 1,2), Chronicles 1, 2, 1 Esdra, Ezra-Nehemiah, Tobit, Judit, Esther, Maccabees

Wisdom

 Psalm Sirach Prayer of Manasseh Job, Proverb, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Sirach, Ecclesiasticus, Psalms of Solomon

Prophets.

Hosea, Amos, Micah, Joel, Obadiah, Jonah, Nahum, Habakuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zachariah, Malachi, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Baruch, Lamentations, Letter of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel.

What Jesus mentioned in Luke 24:44 are

Torah-Prophets-Psalm

Septuagint is

Torah- History-Wisdom-Prophets

These 2 compositions are totally different each other!

Here we see Jesus mentions Psalm as the head book of Writings, not the Chronicles,

Ben Asher has Chronicles as the head book of the Writings while Ben Chayyim has the Psalm as the head book of the Writings

Now we can confirm‎ further more:

Mt 23

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Jesus is talking about the first Martyr of the Bible, Abel, and the last Martyr of the then current Bible, Zacharias, in 2 chronicles 24:21.

Chronicles are not the last book of the OT bible according to the Septuagint, LXX, nor the last book of Ben Asher MT. But only Ben Chayyim MT has the Chronicles as the last book of the then current Bible.

So, this verse supports Ben Chayyim Masora.

Mt 27

9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

If you read Jeremiah, you will never find any verse saying 30 pieces of silver prophecy but will find it is spoken by Zechariah

Zechariah 11

13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was priced at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

Why did Matthew mention Jeremiah for this prophecy? Because Jeremiah and Zechariah are in the same scroll and Zechariah is under the head book of Jeremiah, which support Ben Chayyim Masora was used for Gospel Matthew as well.

So, Jesus and the disciples used the something similar to Ben Chayyim Masora, we can conclude.

1)    Masoretic Text has no room to contain Apocrypha. Where could it contain Apocrypha? Nowhere! And the actual copies of the extant texts contain no Apocrypha

2)    Only LXX contains Apocrypha but it was not in the order mentioned by Jesus.

Jesus never quoted LXX though many scholars claim so.

Other Proofs supporting these:

Josephus

He mentioned 22 books of the OT in his book < Against Apion>. 22 books represent the 22 Alphabets of Hebrews.

Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS)

DSS preserved many Apocrypha but they separated the Apocrypha from the Bible and differentiated the authority of them.

Apocrypha were excluded because

1)    They were not written in the language of the people of God at that time, Hebrew, but written in Greek

2)    They were not studied or read at the Jewish Worship service or at the Jewish sermons

3)    The authors of the Apocrypha never claimed they received the Words from God like < The Word of God came upon me,> < God spoke to me> < Holy Spirit came upon me>

4)    Apocrypha are written in a fairy story style, not in the Biblical style. They are like certain historical reports or some story.

5)    Apocrypha was never quoted in New Testament.

6)    Apocrypha contain some immoral teachings like beautifying the Suicide, Assassination for good purposes, and the prayers for the dead, prayers to the dead.

7)    Apocrypha themselves contradict each other, i.e. place of the death is different etc.

8)    Apocrypha were written during the silent years after ending the prophecy by the last prophet Malachi in 400BC, and they were written during 1-2 century BC during which there was no prophet who had the fullness of the Holy Spirit enough to write the Words of God.

9)    Apocrypha was not included in the Bible list of Josephus and Jamnia Council just approved the existing list of the Tanak.

10) Dead Sea Scroll didn’t treat the Apocrypha with the authority equal to the Bible.

Therefore we Christians should reject Apocrypha from the List of the Bible!

Why is RCC desperate to bring the Apocrypha?

Because it contains the prayers to the Dead so that they may justify the prayers to the dead Mary and to the dead saints, and to water down the authority of the Bible.

Therefore we must avoid the tricks by the Idol worshipping, pagan beliefs strongly
