The Carl Sithole Center takes in children from all background. Those that test HIV positive get treatment from the nearby hospital. It costs 1$ per day to keep a child alive on anti retroviral drugs.<p>

Brad at lunch with some of the studentsat the Carl Sithole Center orphanage. The orphanage provides them with a safe place to live. 3 meals a day, and an education.

Brad meets with orphans in rural south africa who are being cared for by extended family members and friends in comunity. There are 12 million children in Africa who have lost their parents due to AIDS and unless somthing is done, there may be as many as 20 milion by 2010<p>

There are 44 million children in sub-saharan Africa who do not have access to education-30 million of them(75%) are girls. Getting girls into school is one of the best ways to improve their futures, their health, and the health of their future families.

In the Miket Wreda in rural Ethiopia, we learned about the daily challenges posed by extreme poverty such as the lack of the food, water and basic health services.

In Addis Abada, Brad visited Home of the Tasley (whose name means "hope"). Tasfey is one of the many people in Ethiopia who has no doctor to go to, instead relying on volunteers who go home to home providing basic care.<p>

Brad visits a local water point in an impoverished rural area in Ethiopia. 30 million people in Africa do not have access to clean water. Coupled with lack of medicines, this means that children die from illnesses like diarrhea which in America wouldn't even warrant a day off school
