Horror movies

These days, it is so hot. People try to avoid hot weather. They eat ice cream and 팥빙수 more frequently. 냉면 is one of the most popular foods in summer. Also, people go on a trip to sea or valley.
Do you have your own way to avoid hot weather? In my case, I watch horror movies. It is very useful way. Therefore, I choose it as a topic.

Why are horror movies mostly released in summer?
Do you know the reason? Actually, many people go crazy over fearful story and horror movie in summer. Horror movie makes people feel cold. When we watch a horror movie, we can feel that our heart beats rapidly, and our hair bristles up. Also we are in cold sweat. Those symptoms make our body temperature falls.

Many kinds of horror movies
There are many kinds of horror movies. The horror movie can be divided two forms by their contents.

1. Slasher movie : Slasher movie deals with a grotesque murder case. For example, a devilish murder appears and kills many people very cruelly. Moreover there is no reason why he kills them. Especially, slasher movie is very popular in the western. If you like those kind of movies, I recommend "Scream", "Friday the 13th", "I know what you did last summer", "The Texas chain-saw massacre" to you. Also, many slasher movies had been made in Korea, but only "Tell me something" and  ”가위“ make a big hit.

2. Occultism movie :  Occultism has same meaning with supernaturalism. Occultism movies deal with devil and ghost. Many western occultism movies have contents which related with the Christianity and a devil. You may know some movies like "The Omen"or "The Exorcist". Occultism movie gives the biggest fear to spectators. Also most Korean spectators like those kinds of movies. There are many well made horror movies among Eastern films. For example, "주온“, ”The Ring", "The Eye", "여고괴담“, ”장화 홍련“ and so on.

The features of a horror movie and the Japanese horror movie
Horror movie is a very sensitive to fashion. People want more fresh and shocking story. Even though many horror movies are being released every year, just a few films make a hit. These-days, Japanese horror movies have been gained popularity  this country. What is the secret of the popularity? At first, Japanese horror movie deals with various subjects. For examples, 착신아리, that movie, If people receive phone call from their own, they are killed by mysterious accident. Also, in case of the other movie "Ring", the deathes are caused by some video tape. People who watched some video tape together, are killed by mysterious accident one by one. Like this, Japanese horror movies have very novel story line.
In addition to, the Japanese ghosts has strange appearance. They always appears with scary music or sound effects. For example, Toshio, the ghost in 주온, has very scary face and whenever he appears, he make strange sound. Also, his mother appears with twisting her body. Those things make spectators fall in big fear.
They know how to make big fear correctly. The most important things are creative scenario and effective production in horror movie.
