Introducing
Today, robots are very essential part of our Korean, and even all over the world's industry. I will tell the origin, explanation, and events about the robots.
The origin of Robots
The word 'Robot' came from the word 'Robota', one of the word in Czechoslovakia, means 'forced working'. The term 'Robot' came Czechoslovakia's playwriter named Karel Ċapek from his play Rossum's universal robot. There are no perfect definition about robots, but we are very familiar with robots by picture, comics, movies, and books.
Development of Robots
The novels about robots developed by Issac Asimov, he made laws for robots in his novel 'The steel cave'. The rules are:
1. They don't have to attack humans, also they have to save human when they are dangerous.
2. They have to obey to humans, but EXCEPT for Rule number one.
3. Robots have to protect themselves, but EXCEPT for Rule number one and two.
These laws are giving very small(limited) freedom to robots, but humans had to think about not the development of robot, The method that human can limit robots' challenge or invasion to our humans.
Kinds of robots
There are many robots in current our life. Also, they make our life very comfortable. I will introduce the robots by dividing into uses.
First, there are industrial robots. Industrial robots are the most simple and old robot. Most of industrial robots are only doing simplest things, they make something that are same
Second, there are business robots. It introduces people how can we do that something. There is also business robot in Korea's Incheon airport, it notices to people that something is where.
Third, there are entertaining robots, such as robot pets. We can play with them, or robots such as ROBATA teaches something that parents one to teach to their child. Also, it can cure sad or angry people's minds.
Forth, there are war robots. Tanks, soldiers' smart armors(using Nanotechnology), air forces, and observing robots are all machines, that means robots, But almost of these kinds of robots can't move alone. I think these kinds of robots have to do not exist at the earth and space.
Finally, there is most evolved kind of robots, it is Humanoid robots. These robots are very smart, it is not very developed currently, but some robots such as KAIST's Hubo 1,2 and Honda's Asimo can walk, run, notice something, speak, communicate with people, and playing with their hands such as rock-scissor-paper.
Ongoing debate of development of Humanoids
Developing Humanoid robots are ongoing debate now. Some people who agree at development of Humanoids, maybe very brave persons. They think: They can be our slaves, because we invented them. But the opposite side, are thinking we will be like the movie 'The Matrix', 'Wall E', 'I-Robot', and 'The Terminator'. These movies are criticizing the future of humans when we develop Humanoid Robots too smart. They think the current situation of humans and Humanoids will be change.
Movies that Humanoids came out
These movies' contents are almost the struggle of humans to fight against humanoids and win. So it is a sad situation. I will show movies that Humanoids came out.
First, I-Robots.
At future, there is a company that makes robots, but programming was wrong. They start rebellion against humans, and humans struggle with them.

Second, Transformers.
One day, two armies of transformers came from Cybertron to earth, leader Optimus Prime's Autobots and Megatron, and Fallen's Decepticons. They fight against to find Cube.

It was some movies that Humanoids came out, there are some other movies such as Matrix, Terminator, Wall E. etc.

첫댓글 I am afraid of robots! I read in the news that they are making a robot that will teach English, and soon you won't need an American English teacher! @.@
I'm going to give you a few tips for your writing ^^
When you write the name of a book, you should use big letters for the first letter of every long word. You should say, "the Steel Cave."
And, you said, "but except." You don't need to use the word "but."
Great essay! I really liked it. I really liked the photos you added too^^
