“Good Parents, Good Teachers (Part 2)”

Dear friends May 8th. is a parents day and May 15th. is a teachers day. Today we are going to

celebrate both in our Global Harmony Church “Teachers and parents day”. There is saying in Pakistan.

“Parents brought baby from heaven and the teachers send that baby back to heaven”.

Baby come from heaven cause of parents & went back to heaven cause of good teaching of teachers. Dear brothers and sisters, it's not a Biblical teaching, it's a worldly saying. My parents gave me birth and raised me. They do their best to teach physical and spiritual teaching. I am dead sure that all of your parents did same kind efforts to raise you. Am I right? Let's give big applause to our parents.

Dear brothers and sisters today, I want to teach you how be a good parents and good teachers.

1. Parents, should be kind & loving

We've to be kind & loving parents. There are lots of example in Bible & around us. King David, he was so kind & loving father. His own son Absalom was against him and want to kill him. Instead of anger David loved him & commanded not to kill his son Absalom. David wept & mourn for his son's death. David never said it's good Absalom died. Let's be kind and loving parents.

2nd. Samuel 18 : 33

The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept. As he went,

he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had

died instead of you - O Absalom, my son, my son!"

2. Parents, teach and train :

Parents supposed to be worried about the education of their children. We've to work hard and send our children to good schools, colleges & universities for the worldly education. But, we parents have to keep in our minds that we've to teach our children not only worldly things but spiritual things too. It's our duty to teach them about Holy Bible, about Jesus, about Salvation. Parents are the first school for a child.

Deuteronomy 6 : 6 ~ 7

These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them

on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk

along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Proverbs 22 : 6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

3. Parents, should pray and wait

Friends, we parents always want that our children must be the first and best in the society. Best in school, college, university. Everyone may appreciate them. Being a parent we have to learn pray for them and wait. Pray and wait is equal to miracle. We must, Pray and wait. Being a parent and elders we have to follow the following seven rules for our children education.

LOVE - RECOGNIZE - PROTECT - TEACH - UNDERSTAND - TRAINING - SUPPLY THEIR NEEDS.

Mark 10 : 16

And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them.

Jesus loved the children, hug, prayed & blessed them. Do we love, hug & bless as Jesus did?

The primary teacher.

What do you think who is our first teacher of our child? Yes, mother is the 1st. teacher of a child. “The first president of Pakistan Quaid-E-Azam. He said give me good mothers, I will give you good nations”. That's very right friends, Mothers are the first teacher. Then other members of the family. Only mothers can understand the unspoken language of the child. Friends, when my children were young, it was hard for me to understand their language. My wife she interpret their language for me. Mother is 1st. teacher.

2nd. Kings 22 : 1 ~ 2

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years.

His mother’s name was Jedidah daughter of Adaiah; she was from Bozkath. - He did

what was right in the eyes of the Lord and walked in all the ways of his

father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left.

King Josiah did everything what was good in the eyes of the Lord because of his mother. Let's do our duty.

Ephesians 6 : 4

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Worldly Teachers.

Let me introduce you the worldly teachers. There's a saying in a Pakistan as I said in the beginning. "Parents brought a child from heaven to earth & teachers send back that kid to heaven". It means parents married and a child born. Teachers teach good education to that kid. In this way that child go back to heaven. It's the duty of all teachers that they must teach good education in a proper way.

Samuel was having a teacher Eli. David was having a teacher Samuel.

Elisha was having a teacher Elijah. Joshua was having a teacher Moses.

Paul was having a teacher Gamliel. Timothy was having a teacher Paul.

Being a good student we have to respect and love our teachers. There's also a saying.

"A student should not step down the shadow of his teacher because of respect".

That's a respect for teachers. Teacher should teach with love and students learn with respect.

Finally, let me introduce you the best teacher. The best teacher than any mother, father,

family. The best teacher than an earthly teacher. And that's the Jesus Christ. Amen

The Best Teacher.

Jesus is thebest teacher of the universe. Jesus, He never taught His disciples verbally but Jesus Christ taught by His with deeds. Jesus lived on this earth according to His deeds. His deeds were similar to His teaching. Jesus taught about forgiveness and He forgave all. He taught about to serve and He served. He taught about love and He loved. Jesus taught about obedience. He obeyed His mother's command & performed His 1st. miracle. He also command to respect and obey parents. Jesus took care of His mother at the cross and commanded disciple (John) to took care of His Mother Mary. Jesus is the best teacher.

Let's learn from Jesus and be good teacher. Let's resemble Jesus and follow His teaching.

John 13 : 13 ------ "You call Me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am.

A famous teacher of the law Nicodemus came to Jesus and acknowledge Jesus as a teacher.

John 3 : 2 (A famous teacher of the law Nicodemus)

He came to Jesus at night & said, 'Rabbi, we know You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs You are doing if God were not with Him.'

Conclusion :-

Immature teacher teach verbally, Normal teacher teach with actions, Well or mature teacher teach with deep impressions or feelings. Let's manifest ourselves deeply. What kind of teachers we are?

Are we immature teachers? Teaching verbally. Or we are normal teachers teaching with just actions.

Or we are really teaching our children and students from deep heart with actions as Jesus did.

좋은 부모, 좋은 스승 - Good Parents, Good Teachers

5월 8일은 어버이날이고 5월 15일은 스승의 날입니다. 오늘 우리 다문화교회에서 ‘스승과 어버이날’로 둘 다 축하하려 합니다. 파키스탄에는 이런 말이 있습니다. ‘부모는 하늘에서 아이를 데려왔고 스승은 하늘로 아이를 돌려보낸다.’ 아이는 부모로 인해 하늘에서 왔고 스승의 좋은 가르침으로 하늘로 돌아갑니다. 이것은 성경적인 말이 아니고 세상적인 말입니다.

저의 부모님은 저를 낳으시고 기르셨습니다. 그분들은 육적으로나 영적으로 가르치는데 최선을 다하셨습니다. 여러분의 부모님들도 모두 여러분을 기르시는데 같은 수고를 하셨을 것입니다. 그렇죠? 부모님께 큰 박수를 쳐드립시다. 오늘 저는 어떻게 좋은 부모와 스승이 되는지를 가르쳐 드리고자 합니다.

부모는 친절하고 사랑이 있어야 합니다.

우리는 친절하고 사랑이 있는 부모가 되어야 합니다. 성경 속에 그리고 우리 주변에 많은 예가 있습니다. 다윗 왕은 친절하고 사랑이 있는 아버지였습니다. 그의 아들 압살롬은 그를 대적하고 죽이려 했습니다. 다윗은 분노하지 않고 아들을 죽이지 말라고 명령했습니다. 다윗은 울며 아들의 죽음을 슬퍼했습니다. 압살롬이 죽은 것이 잘된 일이라고 말하지 않았습니다. 친절하고 사랑이 있는 부모가 됩시다.

사무엘하 18 : 33

왕의 마음이 심히 아파 문 위층으로 올라가서 우니라 그가 올라갈 때에 말하기를 내 아들 압살롬아

내 아들 내 아들 압살롬아 차라리 내가 너를 대신하여 죽었더면 압살롬 내 아들아 내 아들아 하였더라.

가르치고 훈련하는 부모.

부모는 자녀의 교육에 대해 걱정하게 됩니다. 세상적인 교육을 위해서 우리는 열심히 일해서 좋은 대학에 보냅니다. 하지만 세상적인 것뿐 아니라 영적인 것도 자녀에게 가르쳐야 함을 마음에 새겨야 합니다. 성경, 예수, 구원에 대해 가르치는 것은 우리의 의무입니다. 부모는 자녀에게 첫번째 학교입니다.

신명기 6 : 6 ~ 7

오늘 내가 네게 명하는 이 말씀을 너는 마음에 새기고 네 자녀에게 부지런히 가르치며 집에

앉았을 때에든지 길을 갈 때에든지 누워 있을 때에든지 일어날 때에든지 이 말씀을 강론할 것이며.

잠언 22 : 6

마땅히 행할 길을 아이에게 가르치라 그리하면 늙어도 그것을 떠나지 아니하리라

부모는 기도하고 기다려야 합니다.

여러분, 부모라면 누구나 자녀가 사회에서 최고가 되기를 바랍니다. 학교에서도, 대학에서도, 모든 사람에게 인정받는 최고의 인재가 되기를 소망합니다. 하지만 부모로서 우리는 자녀를 위해 기도하고 기다려야 합니다. 기도와 기다림은 기적을 만들어냅니다. 그러므로 우리는 반드시 기도하고 기다려야 합니다. 부모이자 어른으로서 우리는 자녀 교육을 위해 다음 일곱 가지 규칙을 따라야 합니다.

마가복음 10 : 16

그 어린 아이들을 안고 그들 위에 안수하시고 축복하시니라.

예수님은 어린이를 사랑하셨고 안고 기도하시며 축복하셨습니다.

우리도 예수님처럼 그들을사랑하고 안고 축복합니까?

첫번째 스승.

우리 아이의 첫 번째 선생님은 누구라고 생각하세요? 네, 바로 어머니입니다. 파키스탄의 초대 대통령이신 콰이드 에 아잠께서는 "좋은 어머니를 주시면 좋은 나라를 만들겠습니다"라고 말씀하셨습니다. 정말 맞는 말씀입니다. 어머니는 아이의 첫 번째 선생님이십니다. 그 다음으로는 가족 구성원들이 있습니다. 오직 어머니만이 아이의 말없는 마음을 이해할 수 있습니다. 여러분, 제 아이들이 어렸을 때는 아이들의 말을 이해하기가 어려웠습니다. 그때 아내가 아이들의 말을 통역해 주었습니다. 어머니는 아이의 첫 번째 선생님입니다.

열왕기하 22 : 1 ~ 2

요시야가 왕위에 오를 때에 나이가 팔 세라 예루살렘에서 삼십일 년간 다스리니라 그의 어머니의 이름은 여디다요 보스갓 아다야의 딸이더라 요시야가 여호와 보시기에 정직히 행하여 그의 조상 다윗의 모든 길로 행하고 좌우로 치우치지 아니하였더라.

요시야 왕은 어머니 때문에 하나님 보시기에 좋은 모든 일을 행했습니다. 우리도 우리의 의무를 다합시다.

에베소서 6 : 4

또 아비들아 너희 자녀를 노엽게 하지 말고 오직 주의 교훈과 훈계로 양육하라

세상의 스승.

세상의 선생님들을 소개해 드리겠습니다. 제가 처음에도 말씀드렸듯이 파키스탄에는 이런 말이 있습니다. 부모는 아이를 하늘에서 땅으로 데려오고, 선생님은 그 아이를 다시 하늘로 돌려보낸다." 이는 부모가 결혼하여 아이를 낳으면, 선생님은 그 아이에게 좋은 교육을 시킨다는 뜻입니다. 이렇게 해서 아이는 다시 하늘로 돌아간다는 것입니다. 모든 선생님들은 올바른 방법으로 좋은 교육을 가르쳐야 할 의무가 있습니다.

사무엘에게 스승 엘리가 있었습니다. 다윗에게 스승 사무엘이 있었습니다.

엘리사에게 스승 엘리야가 있었습니다. 여호수아에게 스승 모세가 있었습니다.

바울에게 스승 가말리엘이 있었습니다. 디모데에게 스승 바울이 있었습니다.

좋은 학생이 되려면 선생님을 존경하고 사랑해야 합니다. 이런 말도 있죠.

"제자는 스승을 사랑하고 스승의 기르침을 겸손히 배워야 한다.

마지막으로 최고의 스승을 소개하겠습니다. 어떤 어머니, 아버지,

가족보다 최고의 스승은 이땅의 어떤 스승보다 최고의 스승은 예수 그리스도입니다. 아멘.

최고의 스승.

예수님은 온 세상의 최고의 스승입니다. 예수님은 제자들에게 말로가 아니라 행동으로 가르치셨습니다. 그분은 이땅에서 행동으로 사셨습니다. 그분의 행동은 그분의 가르침과 같았습니다. 예수님은 용서를 가르치시고 모든 것을 용서하셨습니다. 그분은 섬김을 가르치시고 섬기셨습니다. 사랑을 가르치시고 사랑하셨습니다. 순종을 가르치시고 어머니의 명령에 순종하셔서 첫번째 기적을 행하셨습니다.

그분은 또한 부모님을 존중하고 순종하라고 명령하셨습니다. 예수님은 십자가위에서도 어머니를 돌보셨고 제자에게 돌보라고 명령하셨습니다. 예수님은 최고의 스승이십니다. 예수께 배워 좋은 스승이 됩시다. 예수를 닮아가고 그분의 가르침을 따릅시다.

요한복음 13 : 13 ~~~~ 너희가 나를 선생이라 또는 주라 하니 너희 말이 옳도다 내가 그러하다.

유명한 율법의 선생인 니고데모가 예수께 와서 예수를 선생으로 인정했습니다.

요한복음 3 : 2

그가 밤에 예수께 와서 이르되 랍비여 우리가 당신은 하나님께로부터 오신 선생인 줄 아나이다

하나님이 함께 하시지 아니하시면 당신이 행하시는 이 표적을 아무도 할 수 없음이니이다.

결론 :-

미성숙한 스승은 말로 가르치고, 보통 스승은 행동으로 가르치며, 훌륭하거나 성숙한 스승은 깊은 감동이나 감정으로 가르칩니다. 우리 자신을 깊이 있게 표현해 봅시다. 우리는 어떤 종류의 교사입니까?

우리는 미성숙한 스승은 입니까? 말로만 가르치는 스승입니까? 아니면 행동만으로 가르치는 보통 스승입니까?

아니면 예수님처럼 마음 깊은 곳에서 우러나오는 진심과 행동으로 아이들과 학생들을 가르치는 스승입니까?
