Bible Matrix ⑦: Historical & Scientific Views on Daniel and Revelation
Part 2. Revelation
Revelation 5 - The Scroll and the Lamb(c.AD 8,580~)
Revelation 5:9~10 – (1) You purchased men for God, you have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God
☞ Revelation 5:9 – And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.(NIV); And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;(KJV); And they sang a new song with these words: "You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.(NLT)
5:10 - You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."(NIV); And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. (KJV); And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign(1) on the earth." / (1)Some manuscripts read they are reigning(NLT)
○ “With your blood you purchased men for God, you have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God” in Revelation 5:9~10 means the same as “He has freed us from our sins by his blood, and He has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve God the Father” in Revelation 1:5~6 (Bible Matrix ⑦_110 Bible Matrix ⑦_112)
○ What is the meaning of “with your blood you purchased men for God the Father” in Revelation 5:9?
☞ As I already mentioned ‘the keys of death and Hades’ of Revelation 1:18 in Bible Matrix ⑦_141, the serpent who appears in Genesis 3 is the dragon, the devil, or Satan in Revelation 20:2. They are the unrighteous God who manipulated the DNA of Adam and Eve from mono helix to double helix, thus, Eve becomes pregnant and gives birth to a child. Before that, Adam and Eve had sex but did not become pregnant (Genesis 2:25).
☞ This is the meaning of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in Revelation 2:17. Eating from the tree of life in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:9, 2:16) and at the same time becoming pregnant and giving birth to a child is evil in the eyes of the righteous God. If you wonder why it is evil, imagine that immortal humans are born on the earth at random. That would be a tragedy. As a result, Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden and the tree of life was forbidden (Genesis 3:22~23). What this means is that from that time humans are not immortal as they must die (Genesis 2:17).
☞ Therefore, humans are children of the serpent as the devil, and cannot live forever. Dying means not only the death of the physical body in this world, but also the death of the soul in the other world, that is, the second death, or being thrown into the lake of fire (or the lake of burning sulfur) (Matthew 10:28, Revelation 20:14). Simply speaking, it means that humans cannot obtain the eternal life.
☞ But Jesus came to this earth (BC 6). Jesus rebuked the Pharisees, who were teachers of the law (or scribes), and the Sadducees, who were priests, calling them ‘brood of vipers’. “You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good?” (Matthew 12:34), “You serpents, you brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? (Matthew 23:33).
☞ And the high priest, the chief priests, elders of the people, teachers of law, and the officers of the temple, etc., they are the Pharisees and the Sadducees who made up the Sanhedrin (or the supreme legal court of Jew), and they crucified Jesus on the cross and killed him (Matthew 27:32~44, Bible Matrix ⑦_155).
☞ Jesus died while shedding blood, saying, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins”(NIV) (Matthew 26:28, Luke 22:20, John 6:53~54). “With your blood you purchased men” in Revelation 5:9 means “the blood of the covenant” of Jesus Christ.
