Script. 1st. Thessalonians 5 : 16 ~ 18 ---------------------------------------------- Pastor Khan Aqeel / 2025 - 05 – 17

“ Why, we give thanks ?”

Friends, last Sunday we learned about the duties of Good Parents and Good Teachers. We learned that the best Teacher is Jesus Christ, Who lead or showed the people right way of life not verbally but practically.

John 13 : 13 ~~ You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.

Brothers and sisters, today in the scripture Apostle Paul taught us a wonderful lesson.

1st. Thessalonians 5 : 16 ~ 18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Friends, no doubt we can not change our yesterday (Past) - About tomorrow (Future) we do not know anything. Apostle taught us REJOICE ALWAYS. We don’t have make TODAY worse by worrying Second thing Apostle Paul draw towards pray. Pray continually. God answer or not, don’t quit pray.

Luke 18 : 1

Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray & not give up.

Friends, today I want to draw your attention towards THANKS. (1st. Thessalonians 5 : 18)

1st. Thessalonians 5 : 18

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Why, we give thanks? It’s not Paul’s will. It’s not will of any prophet but it is God’s will. Am I right?

Let’s give thanks in all circumstances. If we’ll complain instead of thanks. We will invite God’s wrath.

Numbers 11 : 1 ~ 2

Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, & when He heard them His anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them & consumed some of the outskirts of the camp. When the people cried out to Moses, he prayed to the Lord & the fire died down.

Today, let us learn why, we give thanks instead of complain.

1. Give thanks cause we are saved.

We’re born sinners. Adam and Eve disobeyed & we born in sin and sin came in our genes.

Job 15 : 14

What are mortals, that they could be pure, or those born of woman, that they could be righteous?

Psalms 51 : 5 ~~ Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

We’ve to give thanks cause we’re saved. We are no more slaves of sin & death but in Jesus, we are saved. Jesus suffered, crucified, died and resurrected. Through His resurrection we are saved.

Acts 4 : 12

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name

under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Romans 10 : 9

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in

your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

2. Give thanks cause God is always with us.

Friends, sometimes in our desperations situations, pains, sufferings, and difficulties, we feel that we are all alone. God is not interested in us. God left us alone. But brothers & sisters God never leave us nor forsake us. God is always with us. We can not see but we can feel His presence. Amen

Matthew 1 : 23 ~~ “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they

will call Him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

Joshua 1 : 5 & 9

No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was

with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do

not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

John 14 : 16

And I will ask the Father, & He will give you another advocate to help you & be with you forever

3. Give thanks cause we are the children of God.

Brothers and sisters, third reason why we give thanks to God that we are no more slaves of sin and death. We are the children of God and Jesus gave us right to call God the Father. ~~ Amen.

Galatians 4 : 6 ~ 7 -- Because you are His sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” -- So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since

you are His child, God has made you also an heir.

Matthew 6 : 9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

4. Give thanks cause God is looking thanks giver.

Friends, once there were ten persons approached to Jesus for the healing of leprosy. They shout Lord have pity on us. Jesus sent them to the priest for the check up. On the way they were healed.

Luke 17 : 13 ~ 14

and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them,

He said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

On the way all the ten were totally healed but only one person came back to give thanks but Jesus seek other nine. Where are they? “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?

Luke 17 : 17 ~ 18 -- Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?

Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”

Brothers and sisters, Devil want complain, mumblings and grumblings but God want only thanks.

Psalms 100 : 4

Enter His gates with thanksgiving & His courts with praise; give thanks to Him & praise His name.

5. Give thanks to God, cause we are alive.

Book of Genesis first five chapters are about Adam and Eve. God created them and gave wonderful place Garden of Eden to live. Adam and Eve never gave thanks but they complained and blamed. In result they were expelled out from the presence of God. (Garden of Eden)

Dead people can’t give thanks. Only alive people give thanks. Let’s give thanks while we’re alive.

Ecclesiastes 12 : 7 ~ 8

and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God

who gave it. “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Everything is meaningless!”

Romans 10 : 8 ~~ If we live, we live for the Lord; & if we die, we die for

the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

Conclusion :-

God answer or do not answer. Do not quit pray. God’s timings and our timing are different. God’s plans & our plans are totally different. God is our creator & He knows us more than we know us.

Jeremiah 29 : 11 ~~ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,

“plans to prosper you & not to harm you, plans to give you hope & a future.

왜, 우리는 감사할까요?

지난 주일에 훌륭한 부모와 훌륭한 선생의 의무에 대해 배웠습니다. 최고의 선생은 예수 그리스도이고 그분은 삶의 올바른 길을 말로가 아니라 행동으로 보이시고 인도하셨음을 배웠습니다.

요한복음 13 : 13 ~~~ 너희가 나를 선생이라 또는 주라 하니 너희 말이 옳도다 내가 그러하다.

형제자매 여러분, 오늘 본문 말씀에서 사도 바울은 훌륭한 교훈을 우리에게 가르쳤습니다.

데살로니가전서 5 : 16 ~ 18

항상 기뻐하라 쉬지 말고 기도하라 범사에 감사하라 이것이

그리스도 예수 안에서 너희를 향하신 하나님의 뜻이니라.

당연히 우리는 우리의 어제(과거)를 바꿀 수 없습니다. 내일(미래)에 대해 아무것도 모릅니다. 사도는 항상 기뻐하라고 가르쳤습니다. 걱정함으로써 오늘을 더 나쁘게 만들 필요가 없습니다. 두 번째로 사도 바울은 기도로 관심을 끕니다. 쉬지 말고 기도하십시오. 하나님께서 응답하시든 하지 않으시든 기도를 멈추지 마십시오.

누가복음 18 : 1 ~~ 예수께서 그들에게 항상 기도하고 낙심하지 말아야 할 것을 비유로 말씀하여.

오늘 저는 감사로 여러분의 관심을 끌고자 합니다.

데살로니가전서 5 : 18 ~ 범사에 감사하라 이것이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희를 향하신 하나님의 뜻이니라.

왜, 우리는 감사할까요? 이것은 바울의 뜻이 아닙니다. 어떤 선지자의 뜻이 아니라 하나님의 뜻입니다. 그렇죠? 모든 상황에서 감사합시다. 감사 대신에 불평한다면 하나님의 진노를 부를 것입니다.

민수기 11 : 1 ~ 2

여호와께서 들으시기에 백성이 악한 말로 원망하매 여호와께서 들으시고 진노하사 여호와의

불을 그들 중에 붙여서 진영 끝을 사르게 하시매 백성이 모세에게 부르짖으므로 불이 꺼졌더라.

오늘, 왜 불평대신에 감사해야 하는지 배워봅시다.

1. 우리는 구원받았기에 감사하십시오.

우리는 죄인으로 태어났습니다. 아담과 하와가 불순종하여 우리는 죄 중에 태어났고 죄가 우리 유전자 안에 들어왔습니다.

욥기 15 : 14 ~~~ 사람이 어찌 깨끗하겠느냐 여인에게서 난 자가 어찌 의롭겠느냐.

시편 51 : 5 ~~~~ 내가 죄악 중에서 출생하였음이여 어머니가 죄 중에서 나를 잉태하였나이다.

우리는 구원받았기 때문에 감사해야 합니다. 우리는 더 이상 죄와 사망의 노예가 아니고 예수 안에서 구원받았습니다. 예수께서 고통당하시고 십자가에서 희생당하시고 죽으시고

부활하셨습니다. 부활을 통해서 우리는 구원받았습니다.

사도행전 4 : 12

다른 이로써는 구원을 받을 수 없나니 천하 사람 중에 구원을

받을 만한 다른 이름을 우리에게 주신 일이 없음이라 하였더라.

로마서 10 : 9

네가 만일 네 입으로 예수를 주로 시인하며 또 하나님께서 그를

죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 것을 네 마음에 믿으면 구원을 받으리라.

2. 하나님께서 항상 우리와 함께 하시기에 감사하십시오.

우리의 절망적인 상황, 고통, 고난, 어려움 중에 때때로 우리는 혼자라고 느낍니다. 하나님이 우리에게 관심이 없으시고 우리를 홀로 두신 것처럼 느낍니다. 하지만 형제자매 여러분, 하나님은 결코 우리를 떠나지도 버리지도 않으십니다. 하나님은 항상 우리와 함께 하십니다. 우리는 볼 수 없지만 그분의 임재를 느낄 수 있습니다. 아멘.

마태복음 1 : 23

보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그의 이름은 임마누엘이라

하리라 하였으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라.

여호수아 1 : 5, 9

네 평생에 너를 능히 대적할 자가 없으리니 내가 모세와 함께 있었던 것 같이

너와 함께 있을 것임이니라 내가 너를 떠나지 아니하며 버리지 아니하리니.

내가 네게 명령한 것이 아니냐 강하고 담대하라 두려워하지 말며 놀라지

말라 네가 어디로 가든지 네 하나님 여호와가 너와 함께 하느니라 하시니라.

요한복음 14 : 16

내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하리니.

3. 우리는 하나님의 자녀이기에 감사하십시오.

형제자매 여러분, 우리가 하나님께 감사해야 할 세 번째 이유는 우리는 더 이상 죄와 사망의 노예가 아니라는 것입니다. 우리는 하나님의 자녀이고 예수께서 하나님을 아버지라 부를 권세를 우리에게 주셨습니다. 아멘.

갈라디아서 4 : 6 ~ 7

너희가 아들이므로 하나님이 그 아들의 영을 우리 마음 가운데 보내사 아빠 아버지라 부르게 하셨느니라 그러므로 네가 이 후로는 종이 아니요 아들이니 아들이면 하나님으로 말미암아 유업을 받을 자니라.

마태복음 6 : 9 그러므로 너희는 이렇게 기도하라 하늘에 계신 아버지여 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시오며.

4. 하나님은 감사하는 자를 찾으시기에 감사하십시오.

나병을 치유해 달라고 열 사람이 예수께 나아갔습니다. 그들은 불쌍히 여겨달라고 주님께 소리쳤습니다.

예수님은 제사장에게 확인을 받으라고 그들을 보내셨습니다. 가는 도중에 그들은 치유 받았습니다.

누가복음 17 : 13 ~ 14

소리를 높여 이르되 예수 선생님이여 우리를 불쌍히 여기소서 하거늘 보시고 이르시되

가서 제사장들에게 너희 몸을 보이라 하셨더니 그들이 가다가 깨끗함을 받은지라.

가는 도중에 열 사람 모두 치유 받았지만 오직 한 사람만이 감사하기 위해 돌아왔고 예수님은 나머지 아홉 사람을 찾으셨습니다. 그들은 어디 있느냐? 열 사람 모두 깨끗해지지 않았느냐? 나머지 아홉 사람은 어디 있느냐?

누가복음 17 : 17 ~ 18 -- 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 열 사람이 다 깨끗함을 받지 아니하였느냐

그 아홉은 어디 있느냐 이 이방인 외에는 하나님께 영광을 돌리러 돌아온 자가 없느냐 하시고.

형제자매 여러분, 마귀는 불평하고 중얼거리고 투덜대기를 원하지만 하나님은 오직 감사를 원하십니다.

시편 100 : 4

감사함으로 그의 문에 들어가며 찬송함으로 그의 궁정에 들어가서 그에게 감사하며 그의 이름을 송축할지어다

5. 우리가 살아있기에 감사하십시오.

창세기의 처음 다섯 장은 아담과 하와에 관한 것입니다. 하나님은 그들을 창조하셨고 에덴동산이라는 멋진 곳에 살도록 하셨습니다. 아담과 하와는 감사하지 않고 불평하고 비난했습니다.

그 결과 그들은 하나님 앞(에덴동산)에서 쫓겨났습니다.

죽은 사람은 감사할 수 없습니다. 오직 살아있는 사람이 감사합니다. 우리가 살아있는 동안 감사합시다.

전도서 12 : 7 ~ 8 -- 흙은 여전히 땅으로 돌아가고 영은 그것을 주신 하나님께로 돌아가기

전에 기억하라 전도자가 이르되 헛되고 헛되도다 모든 것이 헛되도다.

로마서 14 : 8

우리가 살아도 주를 위하여 살고 죽어도 주를 위하여 죽나니 그러므로 사나 죽으나 우리가 주의 것이로다

결론 :-

하나님께서 응답하시든지 않으시든지 기도를 멈추지 마십시오. 하나님의 때와 우리의 때는 다릅니다. 하나님의 계획과 우리의 계획은 완전히 다릅니다. 하나님은 우리의 창조주이시고

그분은 우리가 아는 것보다 우리를 더 잘 아십니다.

예레미야 29 : 11 -- 여호와의 말씀이니라 너희를 향한 나의 생각을 내가 아나니

평안이요 재앙이 아니니라 너희에게 미래와 희망을 주는 것이니라.
