누가복음18장 말씀입니다.

1. 사람들이 항상 기도하고 낙심하지 말아야 할 것을 보여 주시려고 그분께서 그들에게 비유로 말씀하여

And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2. 이르시되, 어떤 도시에 [하나님]을 두려워하지 아니하고 사람도 존중하지 아니하는 한 재판관이 있었고

Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 

3. 그 도시에 한 과부가 있었는데 그녀가 그에게 가서 이르기를, 내 대적에게 내 원수를 갚아 주소서, 하되

And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

4. 그가 한동안 들어 주지 아니하였으나 나중에 속으로 이르되, 내가 [하나님]을 두려워하지 아니하고 사람도 존중하지 아니하지만

And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5. 이 과부가 나를 괴롭게 하므로 내가 그녀의 원수를 갚아 주리라. 그렇지 않으면 그녀가 항상 와서 나를 지치게 하리라, 하였느니라, 하시니라.

Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

6. [주]께서 또 이르시되, 불의한 재판관이 말한 것을 들으라.

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7. 비록 [하나님]께서 밤낮으로 자기에게 부르짖는 자들 곧 자기의 선택 받은 자들을 향하여 오랫동안 참으실지라도 그들의 원수를 갚아 주지 아니하시겠느냐?

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8. 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 그분께서 속히 그들의 원수를 갚아 주시리라. 그럼에도 불구하고 사람의 [아들]이 올 때에 땅에서 믿음을 찾아보겠느냐? 하시니라.

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

9. 또 그분께서 자기가 의롭다고 스스로 믿고 다른 사람들을 멸시하는 어떤 자들에게 이 비유를 말씀하시되,

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 

10. 두 사람이 기도하러 성전에 올라가니 하나는 바리새인이요 다른 하나는 세리더라.

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11. 바리새인은 서서 자기 홀로 이렇게 기도하여 이르되, [하나님]이여, 내가 다른 사람들 곧 착취하고 불의하고 간음하는 자들과 같지 아니하고 더욱이 이 세리와도 같지 아니함을 감사하나이다.

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12. 나는 일주일에 두 번 금식하고 내 모든 소유의 십일조를 드리나이다, 하고

I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13. 세리는 멀리 서서 감히 눈을 들어 하늘을 우러러보지도 못하고 다만 가슴을 치며 이르되, [하나님]이여, 죄인인 내게 긍휼을 베푸소서, 하니라.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14. 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 저 사람이 아니라 오히려 이 사람이 의롭게 되어 자기 집으로 내려갔느니라. 자기를 높이는 자는 다 낮아지고 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라, 하시니라.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

15. 그들이 그분께서 쓰다듬어 주실 것을 바라며 어린 아기들도 그분께 데려왔으나 그분의 제자들이 그것을 보고 그들을 꾸짖거늘

And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when [his] disciples saw [it], they rebuked them.

16. 예수님께서 그들을 불러 이르시되, 어린아이들이 내게 오는 것을 허락하고 그들을 막지 말라.  [하나님]의 왕국은 그런 자들의 것이니라.

But Jesus called them [unto him], and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

17. 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 누구든지 어린아이와 같이 [하나님]의 왕국을 받아들이지 아니하는 자는 결코 그 안에 들어가지 못하리라, 하시니라.

Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

18. 어떤 치리자가 그분께 여쭈어 이르되, 선한 선생님이여, 내가 무엇을 하여야 영원한 생명을 상속받으리이까? 하매

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

19. 예수님께서 그에게 이르시되, 네가 어찌하여 나를 선하다 하느냐? 한 분 곧 [하나님] 외에는 선한 이가 없느니라.

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none [is] good, save one, [that is], God.

20. 네가, 간음하지 말라, 살인하지 말라, 도둑질하지 말라, 거짓 증언하지 말라, 네 아버지와 어머니를 공경하라, 하는 명령들을 아느니라, 하시니

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

21. 그가 이르되, 이 모든 것은 내가 어려서부터 지켰나이다, 하거늘

And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

22. 이제 예수님께서 이것들을 들으시고 그에게 이르시되, 네게 아직도 한 가지 부족한 것이 있으니 네가 가진 것을 다 팔아 가난한 사람들에게 나누어 주라. 그리하면 하늘에서 네게 보화가 있으리라. 그리고 와서 나를 따르라, 하시매

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

23. 그가 큰 부자였으므로 이 말씀을 듣고 심히 근심하니라.

And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

24. 예수님께서 그가 심히 근심하는 것을 보시고 이르시되, 재물을 가진 자들은 [하나님]의 왕국에 들어가기가 심히 어려우리라!

And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

25. 낙타가 바늘귀를 지나가는 것이 부자가 [하나님]의 왕국에 들어가는 것보다 쉬우니라, 하시니

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

26. 그것을 들은 자들이 이르되, 그러면 누가 구원을 받을 수 있으리요? 하매

And they that heard [it] said, Who then can be saved?

27. 그분께서 이르시되, 사람들에게는 불가능한 것들이 [하나님]께는 가능하니라, 하시니라.

And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

28. 그때에 베드로가 이르되, 보소서, 우리가 모든 것을 버리고 주를 따랐나이다, 하매

Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.

29. 그분께서 그들에게 이르시되, 진실로 내가 너희에게 이르노니, [하나님]의 왕국을 위하여 집이나 부모나 형제나 아내나 자녀를 버리고서

And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of Gods sake,

30. 이 현 시대에서 여러 배를 받지 못할 자가 없고 또 오는 세상에서 영존하는 생명을 받지 못할 자가 없느니라, 하시니라.

Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

31. 그 뒤에 그분께서 열두 제자를 데려다가 그들에게 이르시되, 보라, 우리가 예루살렘으로 올라가노니 사람의 [아들]에 대하여 대언자들이 기록한 모든 것이 이루어지리라.

Then he took [unto him] the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

32. 그가 이방인들에게 넘겨져서 조롱을 당하고 모욕을 당하며 침 뱉음을 당하리라.

For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:

33. 그들이 그를 채찍질하고 죽일 것이요, 셋째 날에 그가 다시 일어나리라, 하시되

And they shall scourge [him], and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

34. 그들은 이것들 중 하나도 깨닫지 못하였더라. 이 말씀이 그들에게 숨겨졌으므로 그들은 그 말씀하신 것들을 알지 못하였더라.

And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

35. 그분께서 여리고에 가까이 오셨을 때에 어떤 눈먼 사람이 길가에 앉아 구걸하다가

And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

36. 무리가 지나가는 것을 듣고 그것이 무엇을 뜻하는지 물으매

And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.

37. 그들이 그에게 나사렛 예수님께서 지나가신다고 말하니

And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.

38. 그가 소리를 지르며 이르되, 다윗의 자손 예수님이여, 내게 긍휼을 베푸소서, 하거늘

And he cried, saying, Jesus, [thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.

39. 앞에 가던 자들이 그를 꾸짖어 그가 잠잠하게 하나 그가 더욱더 소리를 지르며, 다윗의 자손이여, 내게 긍휼을 베푸소서, 하매

And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.

40. 예수님께서 서서 그를 데려오라고 명령하시니라. 그가 가까이 오매 그분께서 그에게 물어

And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,

41. 이르시되, 내가 네게 무엇을 해 주기 원하느냐? 하시니 그가 이르되, [주]여, 내가 시력을 받게 해 주옵소서, 하매

Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.

42. 예수님께서 그에게 이르시되, 네 시력을 받으라. 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였도다, 하시니

And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

43. 그가 즉시 시력을 받고 [하나님]께 찬양을 돌리며 그분을 따르매 온 백성이 그것을 보고 [하나님]께 찬양을 드리니라.

And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw [it], gave praise unto God.
