Dear ARDF friends,
The Korean Amateur Radio League (KARL) has the pleasure of releasing Bulletin 3 of
the 19th IARU WORLD ARDF Championships. All events will be held during September
2018. As of today, we have received the Letters of Intent from 25 countries adding
up to 418 participants for the event. We are excited by the huge numbers that exceed
our most generous expectation and we promise you that we will do our best to make
the Championships the most successful one ever in the region.
We would like to cordially invite all ARDF societies to spend a week happily and have
a pleasant journey.

3. Transportation to the Venue Please see the bulletin No.2. As a courtesy of our sponsor, you can use free pick-up services by bus on the 2nd and 8th of Sep. Participants arriving thru Seoul/Inchon and Kimpo Airport will be guided by KARL members and will move to Sokcho city by bus. Transport schedule will be decided according to your itinerary.
Arrival Notice We are requesting that Team Leaders advise the Organizing Committee of their team’s traveling schedule so that OC can arrange the “pick-up” schedule. Please let us know your plans 2 weeks in advance.

4. Accommodation and food We have already announced accommodation arrangement in the bulletin No.2.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided as buffet style and sack lunch packets are provided on the classics and Foxoring course days.
5. ID badges Plain badges without photos are included for the event. If you would like to include a photo with your ID badge please send a face-forward, clear, personal photo (image size 600x400 over) to ardf2018@hanmail.net no later than the 31th July.
6. Insurance and Medical care A First aid facility will be available at the finish areas for all competitors at no cost to the participants. First Aid applies for on-site minor treatment only. However the cost for any ambulance transportation, emergency department visits, and clinic visits will be the participant’s responsibility. Thus, we recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover any extra needed expenses.

10. Sizes of the maps, scales, vertical contours All maps are IOF standard, status: spring 2018 First Classics: size B4, 1:15000, contour interval 5m Second Classics: size A4, 1:15000, contour interval 5m Sprint: size A4, 1:5000, contour interval 2.5m Foxoring: size A3, 1:10000, contour interval 5m
11. Marking device - We will use SPORTident system. - Competitors can bring their own SI-cards. - SI-card 8 will be provided for those who do not have SI-cards. - The results evaluation software will be FjwW, provided by Karl Heinz Schade, DL7VDB.

12. Terrain characteristics, clothing and weather: The terrains are located within 60 Km range from the event center. There are places with thorn, bushes and deep ravines. The Classics, Foxoring terrains are forest areas less than 150 meters above sea level and the Sprint terrain is a low forest less than 20 meters above sea level. Competitors need to wear appropriate clothing. Trousers must be long no short pants. A pleasant and cool weather around 20℃ degrees is expected, however be prepared for unexpected rain and cold temperature.
