Year 4 Exit Point - Different places, Similar lives

For Year 4’s Exit Point of their topic ‘Different Places, Similar Lives’ they were able to donate a staggering 200+ gift boxes to five different charities, just in time for the Christmas period!

Towards the end of November, the children set about planning a gift box appeal for a number of local charities here in Penang. They used a range of media, from posters to videos, to help promote the appeal across the school.

A giving tree was then set up for members of the SCIPS community to take part and help contribute gift boxes for children of specific age and gender. When all boxes were collected, parents came in for an afternoon of learning about the different charities the children had researched and also helped with wrapping the gift boxes.

On Friday, 13th December, representatives from each of the five charities visited the school to collect the gift boxes, many of which will only be opened on Christmas day. What a wonderful way to show the children the amazing work these charities do, and to help spread the spirit of giving at Christmas.

11월 말, 아이들은 페낭의 여러 지역 자선단체를 위한 선물 상자 호소를 계획하기 시작했습니다. 포스터부터 동영상까지 다양한 미디어를 활용해 학교 전체에 호소문을 홍보했습니다.
그런 다음 SCIPS 커뮤니티 회원들이 참여하여 특정 연령대와 성별의 어린이를 위한 선물 상자를 기부할 수 있는 기부 트리가 마련되었습니다. 모든 상자가 모이면 부모님들이 오후에 와서 아이들이 연구한 다양한 자선 단체에 대해 배우고 선물 상자 포장에도 도움을 주었습니다.
12월 13일 금요일, 5개 자선단체의 대표들이 학교를 방문해 선물 상자를 수거했으며, 많은 자선단체가 크리스마스 당일에만 개봉할 예정입니다. 이 자선단체들이 하는 놀라운 일을 아이들에게 보여주고 크리스마스에 기부 정신을 전파하는 데 도움이 될 수 있는 정말 멋진 방법입니다.
