[수신기] Sony ICF-SW07과 SW station call

회원님으로부터 Sony ICF-SW07을 구입했습니다

무척 깨끗하였고, AN-LP2 루프안테나, DC어댑터,  설명서  등이 모두 구비된 셋트였습니다.

SW07은 크기가 작고, 수신 성능이 충실하며 또한 가장 큰 장점은 SW Station Call 기능이 있다는 것입니다.

반면 스피커가 작으니 풍성한 소리는 당연 기대할 수 없고, 가격이 비싼 것이 단점입니다(미화 399불).

이 SW Station Call 기능이란, 방송국의 송출 주파수가 입력된 롬을 이용하여

특정 방송국의 주파수를 쉽게 스캔하는 기능입니다.

예를들어 내가 두바이에서 BBC를 듣고자 할 때, UTC를 +4로 설정한 후 BBC버튼을 누르면

해당 주파수를 자동으로 스캔 해 줍니다. DW, BBC, VOA이외의 방송은 기타버튼 (OTH)으로 선택 가능합니다.

이 롬은 간간이 업데이트 되는데 최근판은 2007-2008년 버젼입니다.

롬을 업데이트 할 경우 방송국의 주파수 변경 상황이 반영되기 때문에 각 방송사의

주파수 정보를 뒤지지 않아도 되는 편리함이 있습니다.

롬을 구입하고자 이를 제공하는 일본의 F Corp에 메일을 보냈더니 이틀 후

답장 메일이 왔습니다 (맨 아래 영문 편지 참조).

롬은 8개의 방송국 주파수 정보를 제공합니다.

즉, 3개 (BBC, VOA, DW)는 기본으로서 변경 불가이고, 기타 23개 중 5개를 추가 선택하여

총 8개 station을 구성하는 것입니다

F Corp에서 원하는대로 고객 정보, 원히는 방송국을 기재한 후

현금 (롬 한개당 미화 20불)을 넣어 우편으로 보냈더니 수일 후

"주문이 접수 되었으며 오늘 중으로 롬을 발송하겠다"는 답장 메일이 왔습니다.

또 며칠 후 롬이 왔습니다

제가 롬을 두 개 주문했기 때문에 Custom set 박스가 두 개 들어 있습니다

원래 들어 았던 롬과 새로 온 롬 두개의 사진입니다.

SW station call 기능은 일단 사람을 무척 편안하게 해 줍니다.

시간에 맞춰 주파수를 찾는 일, 물론 그 재미로 단파를 듣기도 하지만

때론 그거 무지 귀찮은 일이기도 하지요

Sony는 사용자의 가려운 곳을 잘 알아서 긁어주는 그 무엇이 있습니다

70년대 소니의 자존심이 하늘을 찌를 무렵 그들의 광고 카피 기억하십니까?

*Some radio stations cannot be heard in some areas of world and you will
have "memory empty" when trying to listen to those stations in certain areas.

BBC covers worldwide, so if you ever get "memory empty" for BBC, it means

김형주님, 답이 늦어 미안합니다. 각 방송국의 call 기능은 물론 잘 됩니다. 이 기능의 장점은 청취자가 원하는 방송사의 시간대별, 주파수별 편성에 별 신경 쓸 필요가 없다는 것입니다. 해당 지역에서 가용한 모든 주파수를 빠르게 스캔 하므로 골라 듣기만 하면 되는 것이지요.
