THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION

Have you ever noticed how many people talk about “God’s power,” yet very few ever point you to the one place where God Himself says that power actually resides?

Not in a church building.
Not in an emotional experience.
Not in the ceremonies or rituals of man’s religion…
But in His Word — rightly divided, believed, and received.

Oftentimes we hear countless believers share the same story: everything changed when God’s Word was taught simply, explained clearly, and understood the way Paul instructs us to read it. Many spent years in religion—joining churches, quitting bad habits, starting good ones—yet never finding the peace of truly knowing they were forgiven or accepted. Their conscience remained restless.

But when they finally heard the gospel Paul called “my gospel” (Romans 2:16; 16:25), everything came alive. With simple faith in Christ alone, the Word of God began to work effectually in them that believed (1 Thessalonians 2:13). The result? Clarity, assurance, rest—and a transformed understanding of salvation.

THE REAL LOCATION OF GOD’S POWER

People chase “power” everywhere.
Power to fix their money… power to heal their sickness… power to fix their circumstances…
But Paul tells us plainly where the power of God truly is:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation…”
— Romans 1:16

God placed His power into a message — a message about His Son — and says that power becomes active only when it is believed.

Not when it is performed.
Not when it is earned.
Not when it is ritualized.
When it is believed.

“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

This is why understanding the Bible God’s way is essential — why Paul commanded us to rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

When you approach Scripture the way God designed — distinguishing prophecy from mystery, Israel’s program from the Body of Christ — your faith rests on clarity, not confusion. And when faith rests on clarity, God’s Word works with energy and authority inside you (Philippians 2:13; 1 Thess. 2:13).

THE GOSPEL PAUL PREACHED — AND WHY IT ALONE SAVES TODAY

1 Corinthians 15:1–4 is the foundation Paul laid for the Body of Christ:
• Christ died for our sins
• He was buried
• He rose again the third day

He was seen by many witnesses.
Christ’s death wasn’t a martyrdom.
It was a substitution — He died for our sins. His burial proved the death was real.
His resurrection proved the payment was accepted.
His appearances proved the resurrection was literal.

Romans 3:23 reminds us:
“All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

You aren’t compared to your neighbor… You’re compared to God’s perfect righteousness.

But Romans 3 doesn’t stop at our guilt — it reveals God’s remedy:

“…Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

Justified means more than forgiven…
It means declared righteous.
It means God sees you “in Christ,” complete, accepted, and secure (Ephesians 1:6; Colossians 2:10).
And it is freely — without cause in you (Romans 3:24).

Grace is not God overlooking sin.
Grace is God satisfying justice at the cross by making Christ the full payment for sin (Romans 3:25; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

This is why Paul says:
“To him that worketh not, but believeth…”
— Romans 4:5

The moment you add works, you deny grace.
Faith is the one thing you can do without doing anything.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR SINS — PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE?

Paul leaves no ambiguity:
“Forgiven you all trespasses.” — Colossians 2:13

“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.” — Romans 4:8

“Being justified by faith, we have peace with God.” — Romans 5:1

Your failures tomorrow cannot undo what God accomplished at the cross 2,000 years ago.
Your performance cannot outdo or undo Christ’s performance.

Imagine basing your eternal destiny on the “best five minutes” of your life.

Who would trust that?
And who would trust the righteousness of a sinner over the righteousness of the Son of God?

That is why salvation rests not in you, but in Christ.
Not in your works, but in His finished work.
Not in your effort, but in His blood.
Not in your promises to God, but in God’s promises to you.

WHY MID-ACTS MATTERS HERE

Without the Mid-Acts understanding:
• Salvation becomes a mixture of Israel’s program and the Body of Christ
• Assurance becomes shaky
• Works and performance creep back in
• People confuse Christ’s earthly ministry to Israel with His heavenly message for us today
• The gospel gets blended with kingdom requirements not meant for this dispensation

But when you see Paul as the apostle of the Gentiles (Romans 11:13)…
When you understand the dispensation of grace given to him (Ephesians 3:1–9)…
When you distinguish prophecy from mystery…
Then salvation becomes crystal clear:

Christ paid it all.
God offers it all.
You receive it all — by faith alone.

Conclusion: THE POWER OF GOD UNLEASHED IN YOUR LIFE

God’s Word becomes powerful — not when you hear it, memorize it, or agree with it…
But when you believe it.

The gospel — believed — removes you from Adam and places you into Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13).

You are sealed with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13).
You are made alive with the life of Christ (Col. 3:3–4).
You are complete in Him (Col. 2:10).
And you stand holy, unblameable, and unreprovable in God’s sight (Col. 1:22).

That is the power of God unto salvation.
That is the message committed to Paul for this dispensation.
That is the truth that sets men free.
And that power is available today — the moment you trust Christ alone.
