VSC Fellowships
Sixteen awards for visual artists and writers, based on merit.
Bloomsburg University
One award for a Bloomsburg University art or writing faculty member.
Civil Society Institute (CSI)
One award for a minority artist with demonstrable financial need from New Haven, Jersey City, or Baltimore. The $25 application fee is waived for eligible CSI applicants. Award includes a $500 travel stipend.
Clowes Awards
Four awards, one each for visual artists living in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Indiana and Washington. Each award includes a $400 travel stipend.
Forugh Farrokhzad Award
One 2-week award for an emergent writer who is part of the Iranian diaspora in Amrika and who will be a first-time resident at VSC. Award includes a $125 stipend.
Golden Award
One merit-based award for a painter, sponsored by Sam and Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts.
Learning Arts & Culture Program
Eight awards for Creative Revitalization Residency Fellowships during spring/summer 2011 for visual art & English teachers interested in developing new creative curricula. Of the total 8 fellowship awards, four will be awarded nationally, three to Vermonters, and one to teachers of Lamoille County. Program participants may receive graduate credit through VSC's partnership with St. Michaels College. New Jersey Fellowship
One award for a minority visual artist or writer with demonstrable financial need currently living in New Jersey; award includes a $250 stipend for materials or travel expenses.
Pavlis
Three awards for African-American artists and writers, current students and recent graduates, with preference given to Fisk University, Spelman or Morehouse Colleges.
Rona Jaffe
One award for an emerging woman writer who will be a first-time resident at VSC. This award includes a stipend of $1250 to help cover expenses associated with taking the residency, including but not limited to travel, rent, childcare or to replace lost income.
Wheels for Wheels
One award for an artist or writer who uses a wheelchair or lives with spinal cord injury.
Vermont Studio Center’s Displaced Artists Fund
Vermont Studio Center is accepting nominations, applications and letters of interest from artists and writers affected by the earthquake in Haiti. The Studio Center will provide one four-week residency fellowship and has identified additional funding to assist with travel. Preference will be given to applicants currently living in Haiti. The deadline for receipt of information is October 1, 2010. Please contact us with questions about nominations and the application process.
