Explanation of the Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu Diagram
The diagram created by the Founder of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu clearly illustrates why this system was established and on what philosophical foundations its structure is built.
Most importantly, the three areas labeled A–B–C are interconnected and present a continuous flow:
Nature → Human Being → Training → Life
This flow represents the essential framework of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu.
A closer examination of the structure reveals the following:
1️⃣ Area A — A Structure Beginning from the Principles of Nature
Area A is organized in the following sequence:
Principle of Nature
Principle of Human Life
Principle of Martial Arts
Principle of Body Movement
This structure presents a very important philosophical direction.
In other words, it follows the flow:
Order of Nature → Human Life → Martial Arts → Body Movement
This does not merely explain martial techniques.
Rather, it is based on the understanding that:
Martial arts are an expression of the natural order revealed through the human body.
Therefore, the starting point of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu is not technique, but the principles of nature.
2️⃣ Area B — Human Structure and the Process of Training
In Area B, the human being is explained through three dimensions:
Body
Mind
Spirit
The core of the training process is described as:
Notice the Flow of Energy
Follow Energy
Magnetize the Body
The most important point here is recognizing the flow of energy.
The essence of training is therefore not to exert force, but to follow the flow of energy.
This principle forms the core foundation of Kimu (氣武) training, which the Founder consistently emphasizes.
3️⃣ Area C — The Purpose of Human Life
Area C explains the ultimate direction of training.
The key flow is expressed as:
Human life itself is Tao for cultivation
Spiritual Growth
Get back to Nature
This means that human life itself is a path of cultivation, and the ultimate purpose of that cultivation is harmony with nature.
The important point here is that humans are not meant to conquer nature, but to return to harmony within the natural order.
4️⃣ Characteristics of the Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu System
This diagram reveals three essential characteristics of the system.
① Integration of Martial Arts, Philosophy, and Healing
At the center of the diagram appear:
Skills (Martial Arts)
Medicine (Healing)
This indicates that martial arts are not merely fighting techniques, but training connected to principles that restore and harmonize the body.
② Balance Between Muwi and Yuwi
The diagram presents both:
Muwi (Invisible Exercise)
Yuwi (Visible Exercise)
These represent two complementary aspects of training:
Entrusting oneself to the natural flow
Conscious practice and discipline
Both must operate together in balance.
③ A Philosophy Centered on the Energy of Nature
At the bottom of the diagram appears the expression:
Universe = Love = Light = Energy
This reflects the view that nature can be understood through a unified principle expressed as:
Energy
Light
Love
5️⃣ The Meaning of This Diagram
This diagram is not simply an explanation of a martial arts system.
Rather, it presents the philosophical foundation upon which Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu was created.
The essential flow can be summarized as:
Principle of Nature
→ Principle of Human Life
→ Martial Arts Training
→ Body Movement
→ Realization of Energy Flow
→ Practice in Everyday Life
Training therefore does not end in the training hall.
It expands into the entirety of human life.
《Conclusion》
The diagram created by the Founder can be summarized in one sentence:
“Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu is a training system designed to realize the principles of nature through the movement of the body and to practice those principles throughout one’s life.”
