021 ◉ Creationism and the Theory of Evolution.
'창조론(創造論)과 진화론(進化論)'
.
○ Adam, the first person to know God in human history. ○ Eden means the world of God’s Word, the world of faith. ○ The Earth was formed out of Water and by Water.
.
The heated argument,
.
Once, I read an article in the newspaper that said, because we can predict the age of the earth based on the Bible, therefore “let us reject the theory of evolution in theology and the church.” I will introduce the concepts.
.
The Bible tells us that the age of mankind is the same as the age of the earth, and also the universe (see Genesis 1:27 and 31 NKJV).
.
The fact that Adam died at the age of 930means that Adam died in the year 930 after the earth was created. Knowing the age of mankind is like knowing the age of the earth.
.
In 1654, the Bishop of Ireland, James Ussher, said that the human creation occurred in 4004 BC. Therefore, the creation of the earth also happened in 4004 BC.
.
Accordingly, the earth should be about 6,000 years old. However, according to the Bible manuscripts, the ancestors of Genesis may have lived to a slightly different age, so the date calculations could be slightly different.
.
However, the age of the earth by biblical records can be estimated to be between 6,000 and 7,000 years old.
.
In comparison, in the theory of evolution, the universe is said to be between 17 billion and 20 billion years old, the earth is about 4.6 billion years old, the origin of life occurred about 600 million years ago, and humans first existed about 2 million years ago.
.
However, these estimates can vary greatly depending on the sample, method of measurement, and person.
.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the first evidence of human civilization, which can be identified with archaeological remains, dates back to around 3,500 to 3,000 BC. This seems more consistent with the Bible’s statement that man was created around 4,000 BC.
.
Therefore, if biblical records can be more scientific than the theory of evolution, then we should see the problem of solidarity with that theory.
.
. . . . . . . . . .
● But my opinion is this;
Adam, the first person to know God in human history.
. . . . . . . . . .
.
Creationism, claimed by the so-called Creationists, is a perspective that accepts the creation of God’s Heavenly earth as a historical fact. However, the Bible clearly states that human wisdom cannot comprehend the creation of God’s heaven and earth.
.
The same is true of the creation of Adam and Eve. The man who does not know God is like dust—like a beast.
.
When we go to a museum, we can see primitive humans who lived on the earth thousands of years ago. The way that they ran around naked seem sin distinguish able from animals
.
The Bible says, how could we call man, who from dust to dust will always return, a person?
.
The first of those men, whom God allowed to know Him, were Adam and Eve. Therefore, Adam and Eve are the first humans, formed from clay, created by God. In other words, they are the first people whom God infused with a living soul.
.
In this, God is like a parent who raises their child and teaches them to be a complete person.
.
“Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.”(Genesis 5:2).
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
(2 Corinthians 5:17).
.
The Word must be understood by the Word. The fact that God created man out of clay is not referring to the physical body.
.
“But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” (Isaiah 64:8; see also Jeremiah 18:6 and Romans 9:21).
.
This truth is more evident in this: Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. Let’s think about this. God is a spirit we cannot see; He is the Word (see John 4:24).
.
The Bible says that no one has ever seen God, nor would anyone ever see God.
.
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”(John 4:24)
.
“Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honourand power everlasting. Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:16; see also Exodus 33:20, John 1:18, and Colossians 1:15)
.
Therefore, how could we compare God to our human bodies? There is no one nor any image that we could compare Him with.
“To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? The workman me lteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.” (Isaiah 40:18-19).
.
Being created in the image of God is not unique to just Adam and Eve. We also seek to resemble the image of God by believing in Him and obeying His Word.
.
The true meaning of resembling the image of God is casting off one’s old self and being reborn as a new person; that is, living in the likeness of God, in His love and righteousness.
.
“Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:” (Colossians 3:9-10).
.
“Thou art the Potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will” (Hymn 217).
.
Like‘Genesis 1:2’that says that “the earth was without form, and void,”
.
We can understand formless as devastation, death, being worthless and unshaped. And empty, indistinguishable from ruins.
.
The world of primitive humans who do not know God is likewise chaotic, empty, and without light. There are no‘ people’ in this world, no birds in the air. Even the plants they ate were defeated.
God described this environment to Jeremiah and Isaiah as a world that they could understand only through faith.
.
“For my people is foolish, they have not known me;they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge..
.
I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.” (Jeremiah 4:22-25)
.
“Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.” (Isaiah 59:15-16.
.
Note: There were no human figures He could see)
God gives His Word to His people at the proper time.
.
○ The humans, who were like animals in their ignorance ofGo d, God made to know Him (see Genesis 1:26, 4:26-5:2).
○ He gave the Ten Commandments to man at a time when man served idols or murdered, notknowing he was a sinner (see Romans 5:13, 4:15).
○ In the age of hypocrisy, God gave man the gospel of christ, which gave them a conscience and an awareness of their sins.
○ In this age where we are to teach the Word of Truth to the secular world, God will give us the “everlasting Gospel,” that cannot be mixed with deceitfulness, profanity, and falsehood. (see Isaiah 11:6-10 and Revelations 14:6, 22:15)
.
In this way, God’s love for mankind continues. His love is like that of parents, who continue to give their children new clothing whenever their clothes grow old or too small for them as they grow.
.
It is like the love of a mother who feeds her baby milk, then later real food; like parents who send their children to kindergarten, then elementary, then secondary school.
.
The book of Revelations says, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” (Revelation 21:1).
(Hebrews 1:10-12; see also Hebrews 5:12-14.)
.
“And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail”
Note: This message is referring to the sky and the earth that are visible through the eyes of the heart.
.
“For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord;~ Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath:
.
“for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall
die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.” (Isaiah 51:3-6)
.
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”(Isaiah 65:17, see also Revelations 21:1).
.
Let’s think about this. Through Jesus’s coming, the age of the Law passed away, and the age of the Gospel began. Whoever believes in him and repents of their sins is born again as a new creation. This is the re-creation of their spirit,
.
When Jesus came to the earth, the age of the law passed away and the age of the Gospel began. Everyone who repents and believes in the Lord, Jesus Christ is born again as a new creation. This is the re-creation of the human spirit, and the creation of Jesus’s world.
.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
(2 Corinthians 5:17).
.
Furthermore, if God created Heaven and the earth for six days and rested on the seventh, how can you explain the following scriptures?
.
God clearly stated that He intended to “workconstantly” until he had accomplished everything that He intended. This means that God never truly rested for a day.
.
“For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.”(Isaiah 62:1, see also Isaiah 62:6-7)
.
But Jesus answered them, “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”(John 5:17)
.
I will emphasize again. The Bible was not intended to be a historical or scientific book. If you only try to understand it from a historical perspective,
.
It will mean something completely different than was intended. Even modern scientific knowledge is a precious gift that God has blessed us with. It seems embarrassing if you misunderstand the bible and completely ignore science.
.
School teach us that the origin of mankind occurred 2 million years ago, which if compared to the 6,000 years to the church, seems to blaspheme the Word of God, the Bible. But this irrational biblical advocacy is not biblical.
.
Brothers and sisters in Christ!
God’s creation of Heaven and earth and all things can not be measured by humans. Therefore, despite the progress of natural sciences, space exploration, and any other efforts, the mysteries of the universe cannot be stripped away.
.
Human knowledge is like dust. Who can say they know all things before God? The more we learn, the more we should kneel before the infinite providence of God. Indeed, the mysteries of God’s creation is beyond measure and understanding. From this perspective, the Bible tells us that the Heaven and earth spoken of in Genesis are the eternal world of God’s word.
.
"Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out." (Job 36: 26)
.
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
