제1장.上經(상경) 21訓(훈) 157事(사).
Chapter 1. Upper Scripture : 21 Lessons, 157 Deeds. 

제1 강령 성(誠).....정성.....第1事(제1사)
The 1st principle : Sincerity (誠 성, - Seong) ... Devotion ... The First Deed.

① The 1st Principle : Sincerity (誠,성) and the Geon Teigram(乾卦,건괘).
八鋼領(팔강령)의 제1강령 誠(성)은 乾卦(건괘)로 표현된다.
[ The first principle of the Eight Principles, Sincerity (誠,성) , 
  is represented by the Geon Teigram(乾卦,건괘).]
 
易經(역경)의 設卦傳(설괘전)에 의하면 乾卦(건괘)를 乾天也(건천야),
稱乎父(칭호부)이며 乾爲首(건위수)라 했으니
乾(건)은 "하늘이며 아버지이며 머리이다." 라고 했다.
[According to the Seol - gwae - jeon (Explanation of the Teigrams)
  in the I Ching (Book of Changes) :
 Geon is Heaven (乾天也 건천야,- Geon - cheon - ya) ,
 it is called the Father (稱乎父 칭호부, - Ching - ho - bu),
 and Geon constitutes the  Head (乾爲首 건위수, - Geon - wi - su),
"This mesns Geon represents "Heaven, the Father, and the Head."]

366事(사)에서는 첫번째 강령인 誠(성)은 
그 내용에 "誠은 衷心之所發(성은 충심지소발)" 이라 했으니
衷心(충심)이란 一神降衷(일신강충)의 의미로서 
모든 인간의 중앙에 하나님이 내려와 계심을 의미하는 것이다.
[In the 366 Deeds, the first principle Sincerity (誠, 성)  states that
 "Sincerity emanates from the cenrter of the heart
  (衷心之所發, 충심지소발 - Chung - sim - ji - so - bal)."
   Here, "  Chung - sim"(the center of the heart) carries the meaning of
 "God descending and residing within"(一神降衷 일신강충, - II - sin - gang - chung),
  implying that God dwells in the very center of every human being.]

또 三一神誥(삼일신고)에서 "自性求子 降在爾腦(자성구자 강재이뇌)"라
하였으니 정성이 생기는 장소는 머리이다(乾爲首,건위수).
[Futhermore, the Samil - singo  states :
 "Seek the seed  in your own nature, it has already descended into your brain
  (自性求子 降在爾腦 자성구자 강재이뇌,- Ja - seong -gu - ja - Gang - jae - i - noe)."그 머리의 중심에 내려와 계신 하나님이니 정성은 곧 하늘이다(乾天也,건천야).
[ This indicates that the place where devotion Head
  ( aligning with Geon - wi - su/ Geon as the Head).
  Since God has descended and resides in the center of that head
  Sincerity is equivalent to Heaven (Geon -cheon - ya / Geon as Heaven).
그 정성은 부모님에 대한 孝(효)에서 시작되니 정성은 곧 父(부)이다(稱乎父,칭호부).
[ As this sincerity / devotion begins with Filial Piety (孝 효,- Hyo) toward one′s parents,
  Sincerity is equivalent to the Father (Ching - ho - bu / Called the Father).]

이와같이 易經(역경)의 設卦傳(설괘전)의 乾卦(건괘)의 내용은
誠(성)의 내용과 그대로 부합되며 서로의 내용을 보완한다.
[ In this Way, the attributes of the Geon Trigram from the / Ching perfectly
  align  with and complement the essence of Sincerity (誠,성).]

     ※ Key Connections( 주요 연결 고리).        ● Geon(乾,건) = Heaven = Sincerity : 誠(성)은 하늘의 도리이자 본성임을 뜻합니다.
        ● The Head (首수/ 腦뇌) : 誠(성)이 머무는 곳을 머리(뇌)로 비유하여,
                                                  이것이 깨달음이나 신성과 직결됨을 설명합니다.
        ● The Father (父, 부) : 근원적인 존재를 상징하며, 
                                             인간의 실천인 孝(효)가 곧 誠(성)의 시작임을 보여줍니다.
