Blessing of Tithes and offerings
Text : Mal 3:7-12
Today I am going to preach a sermon that preachers have suffered to preach and most audiences also don't like to hear.
But it will be blessing, If you well hear and live up the word of God.
rev 1:3 blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it.
I will preach you what is written in Bible.
It is not mine and God's message for your soul.
First, Israel people who returned from prison of Bablron had perfervid faith to God
As time passed, there passion of faith to God gradually get cold .
They life very diffculted and they didn't gather there harvests as much as effort
God noticed Israel though Malachi prophet " Return to me!
They had habitually life of religion. They had regularly worship of sabbat day and the first day of the month.
But there mind fall away from God.
When they disliked with love of God, they are lost the delight offering to God
They don't offered tithes and offering that justly to offer to God.
Needy excuse or difficult, they are scrimp offering to God.
But God said to Israel " Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.
God said " test me! Why God said "test Himself"?
Why God ordered "do to offer tithes and offerings"
It is not that God poverty goods. Our God is almighty and abundance.
Everything of the World belongs to God.
I will say to you, "Although our life is economically difficult and hard, but why we offer tithes and offerings to God?
1. That is commandment of God
God command that offer tithes and offerings to israel people in passim of bible
Israel peoples offered tithes of a flock of sheep and a head of cattle and farm produces
Exoduce Numbers Dom had so many commandment about tithes and offerings.
God commandment is not harmful commandments. God don't order harmful commandments.
There were so many indication sign boards on High way. The indication and commandment sign boards command for care of Driver. If keep the indication and commandment on sign boards, that is bless of Driver for driving.
Also God's commandments is, If we keep that , our blessing
Tithes and offering are our a confession of faith.
The whole world is God's things.
Our all of earnings come from God.
therefore Abraham and Jacob offered tithes to God.
After King David of Israel offered big offering for construction of Jerusalem temple, He confessed this words " All of things from Lord , we have given you only what comes from your hand. (2chr 29:14)
Offering of tithes is our confession of that "all of mine is God's"
Our votive offerings are not ours but we offer that come from Lords hand.
All of everything is Lords things, Specially God said to us "tithe and offering is mine!"
That don't offer tithes and offering to God is theft that stolen possessions of God.
3:8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings.
A thief have to submit punishments. Mal said " Why you were poverty and difficult? because you are robbing me. We must don't rob possessions of God(tithes and offerings.)
Tithes and offerings is a measuring instrument that our level of faith.
When infancy of our firth, although all of thing come from God but we don't offer tithes and offering because we unwill to offer a money
As like a parents give a cake his baby and demand a bit of cake to the baby but the baby don't like to give a cake because of greedy.
If the baby ripen into manhood, He effort in order to delight of parents.
If you don't offer tithes and offering because your level of faith is baby.
Tithes and offering tests your faith level.
Tithes and offering is a passageway of blessing.
God said to Israel people" Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.
God said to us " Test me!"
The LORD Almighty promise to a dedicator
말3:11-12 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," 12 "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,"
God bless to a dedicator who delight offer tithes and offering to God.
When I was a new marriage, I was a very poor evangelist who seminary student.
My salary was a half of normally salary.
A cost of living were always short.
One day, my wife offered her marriage necklace that I gave.
And she ask for a cost of living to God. Oh God father, You know my condition of life I offer to take great care of a thing that my gift of sweetheart. From now You bear the whole burdens of my life. let's provide my needs.
In the past, my salary was 20thousands won (korea money) but civilian was in need 50 thousands won at a minimum money a month.
My wife offer 5thousands won for tithes because She believe that God provide our needs(50 thousands)
From that time, miracle came up every month.
God father fill up all of our needs every day every month.
A month settlement of a household account book ran over 50thousands
From the time to today, God continue provide all of our needs.
You recognize God's almighty.
You delight to offer to God and don't skimp offering.
No matter how bad harvest farmers have, they don't eat seed.
because next year they much plant much gain.
No matter how bad, tithes is seeds of blessing.
Threrfore the more difficult situation you are in, the more necessarily you should offer tithe.
If you are poor , offer tithe according to it your vest!
You plant seeds of blessing to God, will gain a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.
God said " Test to me!"
You test by faith, certainty you experience miracle in your life.
I want you to be greatly blessed by God with the Tithe faith.
