† Am I real good Christian or Christian by name? †

Brothers and sisters, I always claim & shout “With Christ we are Hero and without Christ we are Zero.”

Dear friends, Christian mean the one who follow Christ or believe Christ as a Son of God and Savior.

Matthew 16 : 16 ~~ Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

We Christians should show Christ through our deeds. Christ mean the anointed one" or "the chosen one".

The name Jesus means "Yahweh is salvation" or "God saves," originating from the Hebrew name Yeshua

Dear brothers and sisters Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship. Relationship with Jesus Christ. We’ve to obey His commands. He’s our teacher & the best friend. Let’s listen His voice and obey Him.

Hebrews 3 : 1 ~ fix your thoughts on Jesus, ==== Hebrews 12 : 2 ~ fixing our eyes on Jesus,

John 13 : 13 ~~ You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.

John 2 : 5 ~~ His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”

John 14 : 15 ~~ If you love Me, keep My commands.

Let’s examine ourselves being a Christian letter by letter? And understand the real meaning of Christian.

C. stands for Called by Christ.

2nd. Chronicles 7 : 14 ~~ if My people, who are called by My name,

Dear friends, we are followers of Christ & we’re called by His name. We are for Him & belong to Him.

Acts 11 : 26

and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

In the beginning people called each others Saints but later they called themselves Christians. Followers of Christ.

Today, it’s to examine ourselves. Is Jesus in us, with us? Do we show Jesus, through our deeds or not?

H. Stands for Holy Spirit Dwell in us.

Friends, second letter H stands for the Holy Spirit. Do we have anointing of the Holy Spirit or not?

1st. Corinthians 6 : 19

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit,

who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

John 14 : 16 ~ 17

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever the Spirit of truth. The world can not accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.

But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.

1st. Corinthians 2 : 12

What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit

who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.

Holy Spirit is a free gift of God. Ask God eagerly, seek earnestly. Surely God will give us gift of Holy Spirit.

R. Stands Redeemed by the blood of Christ.

Brothers and sisters, “R“ stand to remember we’re not our own. We’re purchased by the blood of Jesus.

Acts 20 : 28 (For reference see 1st. Peter 1 : 18 ~ 19)

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you

overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood.

Always remember we are not our own. We belong to Jesus cause He purchased us with His own blood.

I. Stands for Imitators of Jesus.

Dear friends, “I” stands for imitator. In all circumstances we’ve to follow Jesus or IMITATE Jesus. Amen

1st. Corinthians 11 : 1 ~~ "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ."

To Imitate Jesus is to walk on His foot prints. Like love others, serve others, forgive others, etc. etc.,

Simple words. We’ve to be mini Jesus on this earth. When Non Believers see us, they say he is a Christian.

Ephesians 5 : 1 ~ 2

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just

as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

S. Stands for servants of God.

Brothers and sisters, here “S“ stands for Servant. No doubt we are the children of God but we have to live on this earth as a Servant. Which mean we’ve to serve others as Jesus served others. Do we serve?

1st. Peter 2 : 16

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover up for evil; live as God’s slaves.

Jesus served His disciples. Judas Iscariot betray Him, Peter Denied Him, Thomas doubted. When Jesus was arrested by Romans soldiers. All others disciples ran aways. But Jesus served and washed their feet.

John 13 : 14 ~ 15

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one

another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

T. Transformed in mind.

We’re living in this world where there are trouble, pains & sufferings. Devil is trying to shake our faith.

1st. Peter. 5 : 8

Be alert & of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

We’ve to renew our mind. Wash and cleanse ourselves with the Jesus’s blood. And transform in mind.

Romans 12 : 2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I. Stands for Inheritors of Eternal life.

“I” stands for inheritors. Remember we inherit Eternal life only in Jesus. Jesus is Savior & Son of living God.

Titus 3 : 7

so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

A. Stands for Ambassadors for Christ.

A stands for Ambassador. We’re the un-official Ambassador of our countries but we’re official Ambassador of Christ.

2nd. Corinthians 5 : 20

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his

appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

N. Stands for New Creation in Christ.

“N” stands for New. We’re new in Christ. Our sinful nature has gone away. We’re Brand New in Jesus.

2nd. Corinthians 5 : 17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Conclusion :-

Dear brothers and sister, today let’s examine ourselves. Am I real good Christian or Christian by name?

⓵ We are Christian but we go to church late.

⓶ We are Christian but on Sunday we don’t have time for Sunday Service.

⓷ We are Christian but we don’t have to pray and Meditate the Word of God.

⓸ We are Christian but we don’t give Tithe and thanks offerings.

⓹ We are Christians but we don’t have time to love, serve, forgive & to evangelize.

Matthew 7 : 21 ~ Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom

of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.

진짜 좋은 크리스천입니까 이름뿐인 크리스천입니까?

형제자매 여러분, 저는 항상 주장하고 외칩니다.

“그리스도와 함께 있으면 우리는 영웅이고 그리스도 없이는 아무것도 아닙니다.”

크리스천은 그리스도를 따르는 사람, 그리스도를 하나님의 아들과 구세주로 믿는 사람을 뜻합니다.

마태복음 16 : 16 시몬 베드로가 대답하여 이르되 주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다.

우리 크리스천들은 우리의 행위를 통해 그리스도를 보여야 합니다. 그리스도는 ‘기름부음을 받은 자’ 또는 ‘택함 받은 자’를 의미합니다. 예수라는 이름은 '여호와는 구원이시다' 또는 '하나님께서 구원하신다'는 의미이고 히브리어 이름 예수아에서 비롯되었습니다. 형제자매 여러분, 기독교는 종교가 아닙니다. 관계입니다. 예수 그리스도와의 관계입니다. 우리는 그분의 명령에 순종해야 합니다. 그분은 우리의 선생이시고 최고의 친구이십니다. 그분의 음성을 듣고 그분께 순종합시다.

히브리서 3 : 1 ~~ 예수를 깊이 생각하라 == 히브리서 12 : 2 ~~ 예수를 바라보자

요한복음 13 : 13 ~~ 너희가 나를 선생이라 또는 주라 하니 너희 말이 옳도다 내가 그러하다.

요한복음 2 : 5 ~~ 그의 어머니가 하인들에게 이르되 너희에게 무슨 말씀을 하시든지 그대로 하라 하니라

요한복음 14 : 15 ~~ 너희가 나를 사랑하면 나의 계명을 지키리라

크리스천이 된다는 것을 한 글자씩 점검해보고 크리스천의 진정한 의미를 알아봅시다.

C. Called by Christ. 그리스도에 의해 부름 받았음을 나타냅니다.

역대하 7 :14 ~~ 내 이름으로 일컫는 내 백성이

우리는 그리스도를 따르는 사람이고 그분의 이름으로 불리어집니다. 우리는 그분을 위해 존재하고 그분께 속해 있습니다.

사도행전 11 : 26 ~~ 만나매 안디옥에 데리고 와서 둘이 교회에 일 년간 모여 있어 큰 무리를

가르쳤고 제자들이 안디옥에서 비로소 그리스도인이라 일컬음을 받게 되었더라.

초기에는 사람들이 서로 성도로 불렀지만 이후에는 자신들을 그리스도를 따르는 자, 크리스천이라 불렀습니다. 오늘, 우리자신을 점검할 시간입니다. 예수님이 우리 안에, 우리와 함께

계십니까? 우리는 행위를 통해 예수를 보여줍니까 아닙니까?

H. Holy Spirit dwell in us 성령이 우리 안에 거하심을 나타냅니다.

두 번째 글자 H는 성령을 나타냅니다. 우리는 성령의 기름 부음을 받았습니까?

고린도전서 6 : 19 ~~ 너희 몸은 너희가 하나님께로부터 받은 바 너희 가운데

계신 성령의 전인 줄을 알지 못하느냐 너희는 자신의 것이 아니라.

요한복음 14 : 16 ~ 17 내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하리니 그는 진리의 영이라 세상은 능히 그를 받지 못하나니 이는 그를 보지도 못하고 알지도 못함이라 그러나 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라.

고린도전서 2 : 12 ~~ 우리가 세상의 영을 받지 아니하고 오직 하나님으로부터 온 영을 받았으니

이는 우리로 하여금 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알게 하려 하심이라.

성령은 값없는 하나님의 선물입니다. 간절하게 구하고 열심히

찾으십시오. 틀림없이 하나님께서 성령의 선물을 주실 것입니다.

R. Redeem by the blood of Christ. 그리스도의 피로 구속받음을 나타냅니다.

형제자매 여러분, 우리는 우리 자신의 것이 아님을 기억하십시오. 예수의 피로 우리를 사셨습니다.

사도행전 20 : 28 (베드로전서 1:18-19 참고)

여러분은 자기를 위하여 또는 온 양 떼를 위하여 삼가라 성령이 그들 가운데

여러분을 감독자로 삼고 하나님이 자기 피로 사신 교회를 보살피게 하셨느니라.

우리는 우리 자신의 것이 아님을 항상 기억하십시오. 예수께서

그분의 피로 우리를 사셨기 때문에 우리는 그분께 속해 있습니다.

I. Imitators of Jesus. 예수를 본 받는 자를 나타냅니다.

I 는 본 받는 자를 나타냅니다. 모든 상황에서 우리는 예수를 따르고 본받아야 합니다. 아멘.

고린도전서 11 : 1 ~~ 내가 그리스도를 본 받는 자가 된 것 같이 너희는 나를 본 받는 자가 되라.

예수를 본 받는다는 것은 다른 사람을 사랑하고, 다른 사람을 섬기고, 다른 사람을 용서하는 것처럼 그분의 발자취대로 걷는 것입니다. 간단히 말해서 우리는 이 땅에서 작은 예수가 되어야

합니다. 불신자가 우리를 볼 때 크리스천이라고 말해야 합니다.

에베소서 5 : 1 ~ 2 그러므로 사랑을 받는 자녀 같이 너희는 하나님을 본 받는 자가 되고 그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신 것 같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라 그는 우리를 위하여 자신을

버리사 향기로운 제물과 희생제물로 하나님께 드리셨느니라.

S. Servants of God. 하나님의 종을 나타냅니다.

형제자매 여러분, 여기에서 S는 종을 나타냅니다. 당연히 우리는 하나님의 자녀이지만 이 땅에서 종으로 살아야 합니다. 예수님이 다른 사람을 섬기신 것처럼 우리도 다른 사람을 섬겨야 함을 의미합니다. 우리는 섬깁니까?

베드로전서 2 : 16 너희는 자유가 있으나 그 자유로 악을 가리는 데 쓰지 말고 오직 하나님의 종과 같이 하라.

예수님은 그분의 제자들을 섬기셨습니다. 가룟 유다는 그분을 배반했습니다. 베드로는 그분을 부인했습니다. 도마는 의심했습니다. 예수님이 로마 병사들에게 잡혔을 때 모든 다른 제자들은 달아났습니다. 하지만 예수님은 섬기셨고 그들의 발을 씻어주셨습니다.

요한복음 13 : 14 ~ 15

내가 주와 선생이 되어 너희 발을 씻었으니 너희도 서로 발을 씻어 주는 것이

옳으니라 내가 너희에게 행한 것 같이 너희도 행하게 하려 하여 본을 보였노라.

T. Transformed in mind. 마음이 변화를 받음을 나타냅니다.

우리는 어려움과 고통과 고난이 있는 세상에서 살아가고 있습니다. 마귀는 우리의 믿음을 흔들려고 합니다.

베드로전서 5 : 8 ~ 근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자와 같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니.

우리는 마음을 새롭게 해야 합니다. 우리를 예수의 피로 씻고 깨끗하게 하십시오. 마음의 변화를 받으십시오.

로마서 12 : 2 ~~ 너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아

하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라.

I. Inheritors of eternal life. 영생의 상속자를 나타냅니다.

I는 상속자를 나타냅니다. 우리는 오직 예수 안에서 영생을 상속함을 기억하십시오.

예수님은 구세주이고 살아계신 하나님의 아들입니다.

디도서 3:7 우리로 그의 은혜를 힘입어 의롭다 하심을 얻어 영생의 소망을 따라 상속자가 되게 하려 하심이라

A. Ambassadors for Christ. 그리스도의 대사를 나타냅니다.

A는 대사를 나타냅니다. 우리는 나라의 비공식적인 대사입니다. 하지만 우리는 그리스도의 공식적인 대사입니다.

고린도후서 5 : 20 ~~ 그러므로 우리가 그리스도를 대신하여 사신이 되어 하나님이 우리를 통하여

너희를 권면하시는 것 같이 그리스도를 대신하여 간청하노니 너희는 하나님과 화목하라.

N. New creation in Christ. 그리스도 안에서 새로운 피조물임을 나타냅니다.

N 은 새로움을 나타냅니다. 우리는 그리스도 안에서 새로워졌습니다.

우리의 죄가 사라졌습니다. 우리는 예수 안에서 새것입니다.

고린도후서 5 : 17

그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새것이 되었도다

결론 :-

형제자매 여러분, 오늘 우리자신을 점검합시다. 나는 진짜 좋은 크리스천입니까 이름뿐인 크리스천입니까?

1) 우리는 크리스천이지만 교회에 늦게 갑니다.

2) 우리는 크리스천이지만 주일에 주일 예배를 드릴 시간이 없습니다.

3) 우리는 크리스천이지만 기도하고 하나님 말씀을 묵상하지 않습니다.

4) 우리는 크리스천이지만 십일조와 감사헌금을 드리지 않습니다.

5) 우리는 크리스천이지만 사랑하고 섬기고 용서하고 전도할 시간이 없습니다.

마태복음 7 : 21 ~~ 나더러 주여 주여 하는 자마다 다 천국에 들어갈 것이 아니요

다만 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 뜻대로 행하는 자라야 들어가리라.
