Script. Matthew 20 : 29 ~ 34 Pastor Khan Aqeel / 2026 - 11 - 08
† “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” †
Brothers and sisters, we are all creation of the God. We can not do anything with our own strength or wisdom. We always need the mercy or help of God. Today in the scripture, we can discover two blinds. They were beggars and discarded from the society. No one want to have any relationship with them. Everyone snubbed them and used bad language for them. Nobody has any mercy or favor for them. But one day they heard that Jesus is passing near by. When blind people heard they shout loudly. Matthew 20 : 30
Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that
Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
Brothers & sisters, everyone of us have different kinds of situations. We did our best but there’s no way.
Friends, today Jesus is standing right beside us. Ask loudly “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
Matthew 18 : 20
For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.
Brothers and sisters, today Jesus is among us. Let us learn a message from the story of blind men.
1. Blind men heard.
Brothers and sisters, here we can see those two men were blind but not deaf. Friends, when those blinds knew or heard that “Jesus is passing by them”. They never ignored that. They heard and shout.
Matthew 20 : 29 ~ 30
As Jesus and His disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him. Two blind men
were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by,
they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
Today He’s here. He is not passing but He is standing beside you. Listen His voice and move. Call Him.
Jeremiah 33 : 3
‘Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
Matthew 11 : 28 ~~ “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
John 10 : 27 ~~ “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me”
Friends, today let’s hear the voice of Jesus. He is here to give us the solutions of our all situations.
2. Blind men shouted.
Here 2nd. thing what we can notice, blind men never whisper to each other. They never request anyone.
They by themselves shouted for the help. - ♣ It’s time to shout not shut or mouth. ♣ Amen
If blind men had felt shy or hesitant to call Lord Jesus, they would never have received their healing.
Friends, don’t feel shy, it’s time to shout loudly. “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Matthew 14 : 30 ~ But when he saw the wind, he was afraid &, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Psalm 18 : 6 (E.S.V.)
In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help.
From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.
Psalms 98 : 4 ~~ Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;
3. Blind men were rebuked.
Dear friends, third thing what we can notice the blind men were rebuked or snubbed by the crowd.
Matthew 20 : 31
The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they
shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
It is not happened only in blind men’s life. When we follow Jesus. When we call Jesus. Our friends, our relatives, our co-workers start to make fun. 30 years ago when I ask my boss to go to church. He became angry, Khan church will give you food, salary. No need to go to church. Some our of friends make plan for Picnic, birthday parties on Sunday. Personally, I am not against it. But God first. Keep Sunday Holy. Listen the Word of God, then go wherever you want. Our first service is at 7 a.m On Sunday I came in church at 6 a.m. Whole day I spent in church. Come & listen Word of God then go, where you want to go.
4. Blind men were shout more.
Friends, wonderful 4th.thing what we can notice in blind men’s life. As much as they were rebuked.
They shout more loud. Friends, that is reason or secret of their healing. Don’t care people, only care God.
Matthew 20 : 31
The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they
shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
Friends, we have to shout to the Lord. Open mouth wide and shout to the Lord. Surely He will answer.
Psalms 81 : 10
I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
Joshua 6 : 20 (Wall of Jericho collapsed, when Israelites shout)
When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men
gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.
5. Jesus stopped and called the blind men.
Second last incident, we can see Jesus stopped. Question is why Jesus stopped? Who ask Him to stop.
Matthew 20 : 32 ~~ Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want Me to do for you?” He asked.
Brothers & sisters even though crowd snubbed and rebuked those two blind men but they never stop crying, Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Friends, don’t worry about people. What they will say?
God answer your prayer or not. Don’t stop your pray. God is listening & He will answer on exact time.
Luke 18 : 1
Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
Exodus 17 : 11
As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning,
but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.
6. Jesus had compassion for blind men.
Finally, friends Jesus called the blind men and healed them. Jesus had compassion for those blind men.
Matthew 20 : 34
Jesus had compassion on them & touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight & followed Him.
Jesus don’t have compassion for those blind men. He has compassions for you & me. The condition is we’ve to shout with faith as blind Men shouted, hear His voice. He is calling us. (Matthew 11 : 28)
Conclusion
Matthew 20 : 31 ~~ The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but
they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
Even though the blind men were rebuked. They never stop calling Jesus. They call Jesus continually & finally Jesus stopped, called them and healed. Call continually until we have answer of or prayers. Amen
