『I'll Be There』의 원곡(原曲)은 1970년 'Michael

Jackson' 형제들의 그룹〈The Jackson 5〉가 발표

했던 곡으로 빌 보드 싱글 차트 정상에 5주간 올랐던

곡입니다.

이후「Mariah Carey」(1970년생)가 1992년 MTV

Unpludged 라는 프로그램에서 이 곡을 '리메이크'하여

발표하면서 빌 보드 싱글 차트 2주간 1위를 기록했습니다.

특히『I'll Be There』는 빌 보드 싱글 차트 1위를

18번 이나 기록한「Mariah Carey」의 곡 중 그녀가

작사, 작곡에 참여하지 않은 유일한 '리메이크 곡'이기도

합니다.

「Mariah Carey」를 백인으로 알고 있는 분들도 더러

있더군요. 흑인입니다. 또한 고난이도 음역대(音域帶)를

낼 수 있는 몇 안되는 가수 중 한 명으로 '기네스 레코드'

에도 등재되어 있습니다.
