1:1 In my former book, 나의 이전 책에서 

Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 떼오필루스여, 나는 예수께서 행하시고 가르치시기를 시작했던 모든 것에 대해 썼습니다.

1:2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, 그가 하늘로 올리워 지신 그날까지

after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

그가 선택하셨던 그 사도들에게 성령을 통하여 교훈을 주신 후에  

1:3 After his suffering, 그가 고난 받으신 후에 

he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. 

그는 그 자신을 이 사람들에게 보여주시고 그가 살아계시다는 많은 확실한 증거들을 주셨다.

He appeared to them over a period of forty days 그는 사십일의 기간 이상으로 그들에게 나타나셨으며 

and spoke about the kingdom of God. 하나님의 나라에 대해 말씀하셨다.

1:4 On one occasion, 어느 날,

 while he was eating with them, 그가 그들과 잡수시고 계시는 동안에 

he gave them this command: 그는 그들에게 이 명령을 주셨다.

"Do not leave Jerusalem, 예루살렘을 떠나지 말고

but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.

내가 말했던 것을 너희가 들었던 것에 대해 내 아버지께서 약속하셨던 선물을 기다려라.

1:5 For John baptized with water, 요한이 물로 세례를 베풀었으나 

but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

며칠 후에 너희는 성령으로 세례를 받을 것이다. 

1:6 So when they met together, they asked him,

그래서 그들이 함께 만났을 때, 그들은 그에게 물었다.

 "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"

"주여, 이때에 당신은 이스라엘에게 나라를 회복하실 예정이십니까?"

1:7 He said to them: 그가 그들에게 말씀하셨다.

"It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.

아버지께서 그 자신의 권세로 정해놓으신 그 시간과 날짜들을 아는 것이 너희를 위한 것이 아니다.

1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; 

그러나 성령께서 너희 위에 오실 때, 너희는 능력을 받을 것이며

and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

그리고 너희는 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아 그리고 땅의 끝에서 내 증인이 될 것이다.

1:9 After he said this, 그가 이것을 말씀하신 후에 

he was taken up before their very eyes, 그는 그들의 눈 앞에서 올리워졌고 

and a cloud hid him from their sight. 그리고 구름이 그들의 시야에서 그를 감추었다.

1:10 They were looking intently(골똘히,집중하여) up into the sky as he was going,

그들은 그가 올라가고 계실 때, 골똘히 하늘을 올려다고 보고 있었다.

when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.

갑자기 두 흰 옷입은 두 사람이 그들 곁에 서 있었을 때에
