Earlier this month, we were joined by Puan Aniza Kamarudin, Director of the Private Education Department (PED), and representatives from the PED as well as Puan Sharifah Fathiah binti Syed Abdullah, Senior Chief Assistant Director, Kuala Lumpur State Education Department, Encik Mohammad Faisal, Selangor State Education Department and Mr. Terry Yap Chee Keong, Head of Department, English Language Teaching Center for a ceremony to present certificates to 24 teachers from 12 local public schools who have completed the 8-session Dual Language Program (DLP) at ISKL.
The overall objective of the DLP is to further improve learning through the sharing of effective teaching strategies related to mathematics and science.
The program, which is the result of a long-term partnership with the Ministry of Education, is designed to further enhance the effectiveness of teaching mathematics and science using English as a medium of instruction. Since the first DLP cohort in 2016, we have had the honor of working together with over 105 teachers from 53 schools in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
This is our vision at ISKL, and it is extremely rewarding to be involved in a program such as this that positively impacts all stakeholders – our visiting colleagues, their school communities, our educators here at ISKL, and ultimately a future generation who have so much to offer Malaysia and the rest of the world!
It is an experience that enriches our learning and we are looking forward to welcoming the 7th DLP cohort next year.
