Good afternoon everyone.  For our Sunday worship service the Old Testament readingn will be Isaiah 2:1-4 and New Testament reading will be Philippians 3:20. The text for my sermon is 1 Peter 2:1-25 and the title of my sermon is "Living Stones in a Spiritual House." 이사야 2장1~4절 

Isaiah 2:1-4

1. 아모스의 아들 이사야가 받은 바 유다와 예루살렘에 관한 말씀이라

This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:

2. 말일에 여호와의 전의 산이 모든 산 꼭대기에 굳게 설 것이요 모든 작은 산 위에 뛰어나리니 만방이 그리로 모여들 것이라

In the last days

the mountain of the LORDʼs temple will be established

as the highest of the mountains;

it will be exalted above the hills,

and all nations will stream to it.

3. 많은 백성이 가며 이르기를 오라 우리가 여호와의 산에 오르며 야곱의 하나님의 전에 이르자 그가 그의 길을 우리에게 가르치실 것이라 우리가 그 길로 행하리라 하리니 이는 율법이 시온에서부터 나올 것이요 여호와의 말씀이 예루살렘에서부터 나올 것임이니라

Many peoples will come and say,

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,

to the temple of the God of Jacob.

He will teach us his ways,

so that we may walk in his paths.”

The law will go out from Zion,

the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4. 그가 열방 사이에 판단하시며 많은 백성을 판결하시리니 무리가 그들의 칼을 쳐서 보습을 만들고 그들의 창을 쳐서 낫을 만들 것이며 이 나라와 저 나라가 다시는 칼을 들고 서로 치지 아니하며 다시는 전쟁을 연습하지 아니하리라

He will judge between the nations

and will settle disputes for many peoples.

They will beat their swords into plowshares

and their spears into pruning hooks.

Nation will not take up sword against nation,

nor will they train for war anymore.

빌립보서 3장20절

Philippians 3:20

20. 그러나 우리의 시민권은 하늘에 있는지라 거기로부터 구원하는 자 곧 주 예수 그리스도를 기다리노니

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

베드로전서 2장1~25절

1 Peter 2:1-25

1. 그러므로 모든 악독과 모든 기만과 외식과 시기와 모든 비방하는 말을 버리고

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

2. 갓난 아기들 같이 순전하고 신령한 젖을 사모하라 이는 그로 말미암아 너희로 구원에 이르도록 자라게 하려 함이라

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

3. 너희가 주의 인자하심을 맛보았으면 그리하라

now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

4. 사람에게는 버린 바가 되었으나 하나님께는 택하심을 입은 보배로운 산 돌이신 예수께 나아가

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—

5. 너희도 산 돌 같이 신령한 집으로 세워지고 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님이 기쁘게 받으실 신령한 제사를 드릴 거룩한 제사장이 될지니라

you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual houses to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

6. 성경에 기록되었으되 보라 내가 택한 보배로운 모퉁잇돌을 시온에 두노니 그를 믿는 자는 부끄러움을 당하지 아니하리라 하였으니

For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”

7. 그러므로 믿는 너희에게는 보배이나 믿지 아니하는 자에게는 건축자들이 버린 그 돌이 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되고

Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”

8. 또한 부딪치는 돌과 걸려 넘어지게 하는 바위가 되었다 하였느니라 그들이 말씀을 순종하지 아니하므로 넘어지나니 이는 그들을 이렇게 정하신 것이라

and, “A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.

9. 그러나 너희는 택하신 족속이요 왕 같은 제사장들이요 거룩한 나라요 그의 소유가 된 백성이니 이는 너희를 어두운 데서 불러 내어 그의 기이한 빛에 들어가게 하신 이의 아름다운 덕을 선포하게 하려 하심이라

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, Godʼs special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

10. 너희가 전에는 백성이 아니더니 이제는 하나님의 백성이요 전에는 긍휼을 얻지 못하였더니 이제는 긍휼을 얻은 자니라

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

11. ○사랑하는 자들아 거류민과 나그네 같은 너희를 권하노니 영혼을 거슬러 싸우는 육체의 정욕을 제어하라

Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.

12. 너희가 이방인 중에서 행실을 선하게 가져 너희를 악행한다고 비방하는 자들로 하여금 너희 선한 일을 보고 오시는 날에 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 하려 함이라

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

13. ○인간의 모든 제도를 주를 위하여 순종하되 혹은 위에 있는 왕이나

Submit yourselves for the Lordʼs sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority,

14. 혹은 그가 악행하는 자를 징벌하고 선행하는 자를 포상하기 위하여 보낸 총독에게 하라

or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

15. 곧 선행으로 어리석은 사람들의 무식한 말을 막으시는 것이라

For it is Godʼs will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.

16. 너희는 자유가 있으나 그 자유로 악을 가리는 데 쓰지 말고 오직 하나님의 종과 같이 하라

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as Godʼs slaves.

17. 뭇 사람을 공경하며 형제를 사랑하며 하나님을 두려워하며 왕을 존대하라

Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

18. ○사환들아 범사에 두려워함으로 주인들에게 순종하되 선하고 관용하는 자들에게만 아니라 또한 까다로운 자들에게도 그리하라

Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.

19. 부당하게 고난을 받아도 하나님을 생각함으로 슬픔을 참으면 이는 아름다우나

For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.

20. 죄가 있어 매를 맞고 참으면 무슨 칭찬이 있으리요 그러나 선을 행함으로 고난을 받고 참으면 이는 하나님 앞에 아름다우니라

But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.

21. 이를 위하여 너희가 부르심을 받았으니 그리스도도 너희를 위하여 고난을 받으사 너희에게 본을 끼쳐 그 자취를 따라오게 하려 하셨느니라

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

22. 그는 죄를 범하지 아니하시고 그 입에 거짓도 없으시며

“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”

23. 욕을 당하시되 맞대어 욕하지 아니하시고 고난을 당하시되 위협하지 아니하시고 오직 공의로 심판하시는 이에게 부탁하시며

When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

24. 친히 나무에 달려 그 몸으로 우리 죄를 담당하셨으니 이는 우리로 죄에 대하여 죽고 의에 대하여 살게 하려 하심이라 그가 채찍에 맞음으로 너희는 나음을 얻었나니

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

25. 너희가 전에는 양과 같이 길을 잃었더니 이제는 너희 영혼의 목자와 감독 되신 이에게 돌아왔느니라

For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
