Bible Reading - Acts 4:1~10

4:1 The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people.

베드로와 요한이 사람들에게 말하고 있는 동안에 제사장들과 성전 경비대의 대장과 사두개인들이 베드로와 요한에게 올라왔다.

4:2 They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.

그들은 사도들이 사람들에게 예수님 안에서 죽은 자의 부활을 가르치고 선포하는 것에 크게 동요했다.

4:3 They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, 

그들은 베드로와 요한을 잡았다 그리고 저녁 시간이었기 때문에 

they put them in jail until the next day. 그들은 다음 날까지 그들을 감옥에 넣었다.

4:4 But many who heard the message believed, 그러나 그 메세지를 들었던 많은 사람들이 믿고

and the number of men grew to about five thousand. 그 사람들의 숫자는 대략 오천명이나 되었다.

4:5 The next day the rulers, elders and teachers of the law met in Jerusalem.

다음 날, 통치자들과 장로들 그리고 율법 선생들이 예루살렘에서 만났다(모였다).

4:6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and the other men of the high priest's family.

대제사장 안나스가 거기 있었고, 가야바, 요한, 알렉산더 그리고 대제사장의 가문 중에 다른 사람들도 그렇게 했다.

4:7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: 

그들은 베드로와 요한을 그들 앞에 데려와서 질문하기 시작했다.

"By what power or what name did you do this?" 무슨 권세로 어떤 이름으로 너희는 이것을 했느냐?

4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: "Rulers and elders of the people! 성령으로 충만해진 베드로가 그들에게 " 통치자들과 사람들의 장로들아!"라고 말했다.

4:9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed,

만일 오늘 우리가 장애인에게 베푼 친절에 대해 책임을 져야 하고, 그가 어떻게 치유되었는지 질문을 받는다면,

4:10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel:

그러면 너희들과 이스라엘의 모든 백성은 이것을 알아라.

 It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.

당신들이 십자가에 못 박았으나 하나님께서 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 나사렛 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 이 사람이 당신들 앞에 나음을 받아 서 있다.
