Bible Reading - Acts 5:1~10

1. Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property.
이제 아나니아라는 사람이 그의 아내와 함께 또한 재산의 일부분(한 조각)을 팔았다.

2. With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet.
그는 아내가 알고 있는 상황에서 돈의 일부는 자신이 갖고 나머지는 사도들의 발치에 가져다 놓았다.

5:3 Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?

그러자 베드로가 말했다. "아나니아야, 어찌하여 사탄이 네 마음을 가득 채워 성령께 거짓말을 하고 땅값으로 받은 돈의 일부를 네 것으로 뒀느냐?"

5:4 Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? 그것이 팔리기 전에 너에게 속한 것이 아니었는가?

And after it was sold, 그리고 그것이 팔린 후에

wasn't the money at your disposal? 그 돈은 너의 마음대로 쓸 수 있는 돈이 아니었나?

What made you think of doing such a thing? 무엇이 너를 그렇게 하도록 만들었는가?

You have not lied to men but to God." 너는 사람에게 거짓말을 한 것이 아니고 하나님께로다.

5:5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died.

아나니아가 이 말을 듣고서 엎드러져서 죽었다.

 And great fear seized all who heard what had happened.

크나큰 두려움이 일어난 일을 들었던 모든 사람들을 사로잡았다.

5:6 Then the young men came forward, wrapped up his body, 

그때 젊은 사람들이 와서 그의 몸을 감싸서 

and carried him out and buried him. 그를 날라서 매장했다.

5:7 About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened.

대략 세시간 후에 무슨 일이 일어났는지 알지 못하는 그의 아내가 들어왔다.

5:8 Peter asked her, "Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?" 

베드로가 그녀에게 물었다." 내게 말하라, 이것이 너와 아나니아가 땅을 팔아서 얻었던 그 가격인가?"

"Yes," she said, "that is the price." "예, 그것이 그 가격입니다."하고 그녀가 말했다.

5:9 Peter said to her, 베드로가 그녀에게 말하기를 

"How could you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look! 

어떻게 너희는 주의 성령을 시험하기를 동의할 수 있었느냐? 보라.

The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also."

너의 남편을 매장했던 사람들이 발이 문 앞에 있다. 그리고 그들은 너 또한 메어 나갈 것이다."

5:10 At that moment she fell down at his feet and died.

그 순간에 그녀는 그의 발치에 넘어져서 죽었다.

 Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband. 그래서 젊은 이들이 들어왔고 그녀가 죽은 것을 발견하고서 그녀를 내어갔고 그녀의 남편 곁에 그녀를 매장했다.
