Hi UvanU folks. I'm recent grad from a school in Vancouver Island. I moved to Vancouver a couple weeks ago seeking for more opportunities. I've been running around all over MetroVan like crazy to look for a place just like the people might be reading this post, and finally I've got it settled quite nicely thanks to really nice people I met.
Okay, enough with myself. I drank a beer and got nothing to do so I'd like to share a little bit of my experience here.
It's always upsetting to see people who attempt to rent out their inhabitable residences. Especially one I just had was so infuriating. I was gonna just say "well shit." and let that slide but I felt deeply responsible to share this information for the sake of everyone on this community, and, I think it's the one of purposes this website is meant for IMO.
I don't feel like wasting a time to complain. So I will just get right to it. Here's what I've seen and felt there.
- The house.
I don't really remember the address ( and I don't want to ). But It was a house located nearby Royal Oak Station on the SkyTrain. If you just walk down along Royal Oak Avenue, you would be able to find this place easy. As far as I remember, there was a church on the way.
Not to mention that it looks a shaky building and very poorly maintained. The carpet was old and crappy ( I thought it was alive. ). It seems it's been over 10 years since the last time the carpet has been cleaned in proper manner. Actually he showed me the unit on the first floor, and it was full of unpleasant humidity like something you feel when you rent in the unit beneath the ground. There were a couple more things I would comment on the situation but I don't think I need to share my pain anymore to make a point.
(I was shocked that there is a person renting a room in the house. As the matter of fact, It was so bad that I even couldn't help but felt sorry for a guy who's apparently sole tenant in the house.)

I have a strong feeling that a lot of people on here would just scoff at me and think of me as a person whining. Well I'm fine with that because I actually am right now. I'm sorry for being such a little girl but I felt I had to do this.
and To those who looking for a place to be your home, I wish you all the luck on your search for housing.
Thanks.
P.S. I was gonna post this in Korean but I had to do it in English because I had to re-setup my labtop from the scratch.

Royal Oak Station 근처 집(근처에 교회도 있는)은 피하라 같네요.
