Yesterday, at The International School of Penang (Uplands), the Primary Gardening and Sustainability CCA was joined by Year 12 students who are helping our younger learners become more aware of sustainability issues at Uplands. The Year 12 students ran a great activity to teach younger students about sorting trash. They also discussed how Uplands can improve recycling on campus. Out Year 5 and 6 students brainstormed ideas about creating a recycling awareness campaign for their classmates. They will use posters, simple graphics as well as social media. Our students are well-versed in creating reels and will make social media posts as well as videos to share at our upcoming assembles.

It’s wonderful having our older learners in secondary collaborating with primary staff and help make deeper connections with primary students.
