전도서4장 말씀입니다.

[바이블 애플] KJV 흠정역 전도서4장1. 그러므로 내가 돌이켜 해 아래에서 이루어진 모든 학대를 깊이 살펴보았노니, 보라, 학대받는 자들의 눈물이라.     그들에게는 위로자가 없었도다. 그들을 학대하는 자들의 편에는 권세가 있었으나 그들에게는 위로자가 없었도다.So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of [such as were] oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors [there was] power; but they had no comforter. 2. 그러므로 내가 아직 살아 있는 산 자들보다 이미 죽어 있는 죽은 자들을 더욱 칭송하였으니Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.3. 참으로 아직 존재하지 않은 자 곧 해 아래에서 이루어진 악한 일을 보지 못한 자가 그들 둘보다 낫도다.Yea, better [is he] than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.4. 내가 모든 해산의 고통과 모든 옳은 일을 다시 깊이 살펴보니 이것으로 인하여 사람이 자기 이웃에게 시기를 받는도다.    이것도 헛되며 영을 괴롭게 하는 것이로다.Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This [is] also vanity and vexation of spirit. 5. 어리석은 자는 자기의 두 손을 함께 포개고 자기 살을 먹는도다.The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.6. 한 손에 가득하고 평온한 것이 두 손에 가득하고 해산의 고통을 겪으며 영을 괴롭게 하는 것보다 더 나으니라.Better [is] an handful [with] quietness, than both the hands full [with] travail and vexation of spirit.7. 그때에 내가 돌이켜 해 아래에서 헛된 것을 보았노라.Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun.8. 한 사람이 홀로 있고 대신할 자가 없으니 참으로 그에게는 자식도 없고 형제도 없도다. 그럼에도 그의 모든 수고에는     끝이 없으며 또 그의 눈은 재물로도 만족하지 아니하고 또 그가 이르기를, 내가 누구를 위해 수고하며 내 혼에게서     좋은 것을 빼앗는가? 하지도 아니하나니 이것도 헛되며 참으로 쓰라린 해산의 고통이로다.There is one [alone], and [there is] not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet [is there] no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither [saith he], For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This [is] also vanity, yea, it [is] a sore travail.9. 두 사람이 한 사람보다 나음은 그들이 자기들의 수고로 인하여 좋은 보상을 받을 것이기 때문이라.Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.10. 혹시 그들이 넘어지면 한 사람이 자기 동료를 일으켜 세우려니와 홀로 있는 자는 넘어질 때에 화가 있으리니 그를        도와서 일으킬 자가 그에게 없도다.For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him [that is] alone when he falleth; for [he hath] not another to help him up.11. 또 두 사람이 함께 누우면 그들이 따뜻하게 되거니와 사람이 홀로 있으면 어찌 따뜻하랴?Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm [alone]?12. 누가 그를 쳐서 이기면 두 사람이 그와 맞서리니 세 겹 줄은 빨리 끊어지지 아니하느니라.And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.13. 가난해도 지혜로운 아이가 늙고 어리석어 더 이상 권고를 받으려 하지 아니하는 왕보다 낫도다.Better [is] a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished. 14. 그는 통치하려고 감옥에서 나오거니와 자기의 왕권을 가지고 태어난 자는 또한 가난하게 되는도다.For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also [he that is] born in his kingdom becometh poor.15. 내가 그를 대신하여 일어 설 둘째 아이와 더불어 해 아래에서 걷는 모든 산 자들을 깊이 살펴보니I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.16. 모든 백성의 끝이 없으며 심지어 그들 전에 있던 모든 자들의 끝도 없도다. 뒤에 오는 자들도 그를 기뻐하지       아니하리니 분명히 이것도 헛되며 영을 괴롭게 하는 것이로다.[There is] no end of all the people, [even] of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also [is] vanity and vexation of spirit.
