Bible Reading - Acts 8:1~10

1. And Saul approved of their killing him. 사울은 그들이 그를 죽이는 것을 찬성했다.
On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem,
그 날에 큰 박해가 예루살렘 교회를 대항하여 일어났고
and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.
사도들을 제외한 모든 사람들이 유대 땅과 사마리아로 흩어졌다.

2. Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him.
경건한 사람들이 스데반을 장사지내고 그를 위해 깊이 애곡했다.

3. But Saul began to destroy the church. 그러나 사울은 교회를 박멸하기 시작했다.
Going from house to house,
집집마다 다니면서
he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.
그는 남자들과 여자들 모두를 끌어내어 감옥에 가두었다.

4. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
흩어진 사람들은 가는 곳마다 말씀을 전했다.

5. Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there.
빌립은 사마리아에 있는 도시로 내려가서 거기서 메시아(구세주)를 선포(전)했다.

6. When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said.
군중(무리)들이 빌립에게 듣고 그가 행하는 표적을 보고서 그들은 그가 말하는 것에 주의를 기울였다.

7. For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed.
큰 소리로 더러운 귀신들이 많은 사람들에게서 나왔고 중풍 병자들과 앉은뱅이들이 치료를 받았다.

8. So there was great joy in that city.
그래서 그 도시에 큰 기쁨이 있었다.

9. Now for some time 이제 한 동안
a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria.
시몬이라고 하는 한 사람이 그 도시에서 마술을 하여 사마리아에 있는 모든 사람들을 놀라게 했다.
He boasted that he was someone great,
그는 그가 어떤 위대한 사람이라는 것을 자랑스러워했다.

10. and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention
그리고 높은 자나 낮은 자나 모든 사람들이 그에게 관심을 가졌고
and exclaimed, “This man is rightly called the Great Power of God.”
그리고 “이 사람은 참으로 하나님의 위대한 능력이라 불린다.”하고 외쳤다.
