Mother Tongue Week was celebrated across Nexus

Mother Tongue Week was celebrated across Nexus with a vibrant showcase of language, culture and identity.

Beginning with our beautiful cherry blossom artwork, the week captured the creativity of our learners.

A key highlight was the speaking competition, where learners confidently delivered speeches in their native and acquisition languages to a Year 10 audience. Watching Daigo present in French was especially inspiring, a beautiful reflection of the pride and courage within our multilingual community.

Across the school, learners immersed themselves in rich cultural experiences, from Malay traditional puppet-making and blue-and-white porcelain design in Year 8 to Peking Opera face art in Year 5.

아름다운 벚꽃 예술 작품으로 시작한 한 주는 학습자들의 창의력을 사로잡았습니다.
핵심 하이라이트는 말하기 대회로, 학습자들이 10학년 청중에게 모국어와 습득 언어로 자신 있게 연설을 했습니다. 특히 다이고가 프랑스어로 발표하는 모습을 보는 것은 다국어 커뮤니티 내의 자부심과 용기를 아름답게 반영하는 것이었습니다.
학교 전체에서 학습자들은 8학년 때 말레이 전통 인형 제작과 청화백자 디자인부터 5학년 때 북경 오페라 페이스 아트까지 풍부한 문화 체험에 몰두했습니다.
