🪩🎆🔮타임스스퀘어 볼(Times Square Ball)은 뉴욕시 타임스스퀘어에 위치한 타임스스퀘어 볼이다. 원 타임스스퀘어 옥상에 위치한 이 볼은 타임스스퀘어에서 열리는 새해 전야 축하행사의 중요한 부분으로, 일반적으로 볼 드롭이라고 불리는데, 볼이 특별히 설계된 깃대를 따라 내려오며 동부 표준시 기준 오후 11시 59분에 시작하여 자정에 정지하여 새해의 시작을 알린다. 이 행사는 뉴욕 타임스의 소유주인 아돌프 오크스가 타임스의 새로운 본사로서의 위상을 홍보하기 위해 건물에서 개최한 일련의 새해 전야 불꽃놀이의 연장선으로 처음 기획했으며, 볼 자체는 아트크래프트 스트라우스가 디자인했다. 1907년 12월 31일 1908년을 맞이하기 위해 처음 개최된 볼 드롭은 전시 정전을 기념하기 위해 1942년과 1943년을 제외하고 매년 개최되어왔다. 이 행사는 현재 타임스스퀘어 얼라이언스와 제프리 스트라우스가 이끄는 카운트다운 엔터테인먼트가 공동 주최하고 있다. 2009년부터 볼 자체는 거의 일년 내내 원 타임스스퀘어 꼭대기에 랜드마크로 자리 잡았으며, 이전 볼들은 타워에 건설 중인 새로운 박물관의 일부로 전시될 예정이다. 볼은 조명 기술의 발전을 반영하여 일곱 번이나 개량되었다. 원래 볼은 지름 1.5m에 목재와 철로 만들어졌으며 백열전구 100개로 조명되었다. 반면, 2025-26년에 선보이는 일곱 번째 볼은 지름 3.8m에 LED 조명으로 조명된다. 1999-2000년부터 볼의 겉면은 워터포드 크리스털에서 제작한 크리스털 패널로 구성되었으며, 패널에는 해당 연도의 테마를 나타내는 문구와 디자인이 새겨져 있다. 타임스스퀘어 볼 드롭이 널리 퍼지면서 전국의 다른 지역 새해 전야 행사에서도 유사한 "볼 드롭" 행사가 열리게 되었다. 공을 사용하는 사람도 있고, 지역 문화나 역사를 나타내는 물건을 떨어뜨리는 사람도 있다.
