누가21:5

외형만 보고 단정 지을 수 없습니다. 겉의 깨짐과 동시에 속도 산산조각 나는 것이 있고, 깨져도 속은 자기 형질을 지켜 내는 것이 있습니다. 우러러보던 성전은 무너졌지만 짓밟히던 복음은 확장되었습니다. 성전처럼 무너지지 않으려면 진리를 향한 탄탄한 중심이 필요합니다. 공주야! 성전이 무너질 것을 예고하시자 제자들은 놀라서 그날 전에 있을 징조를 묻는다. 그들은 성전이 무너지는 것을 종말의 시작으로 생각한 것이다. 주께서는 몇몇 징조를 소개하고 종말을 준비하는 성도의 자세를 가르치신다. 마지막 때를 살아가는 성도의 태도는 어떠해야 하는가?

예루살렘 성전의 겉은 화려하고 웅장했지만 강도의 소굴, 부패의 온상으로 변해버렸다. 사람들은 화려한 성전 건물에 마음을 빼앗겼지만, 주님은 회칠한 무덤 같은 성전 안에 있는 사람들의 감춰진 실상을 보고 멸망을 선포하신다. ‘허위의 나’를 ‘실제의 나’로 대체하지 말자. 남에게 보이려고 살지 말자. 있는 그대로 진실하게 살면 주님이 봐주신다. 규모에 집착하다가 본질과 정체를 잃어버려서야 되겠는가. 성전 멸망 전에 메시아를 자처하는 거짓된 사람들이 많을 것이니 미혹을 받지 않도록 주의하라고 하신다.

멸망에 대한 근거 없는 불안과 두려움이 믿음의 대상마저 흔들어놓을 수 있으니 경계 하라는 뜻이다. 또 곳곳에서 난리와 소요의 소문이 들리더라도 동요하거나 두려워하지 말라고 하신다. 아직 끝은 아니기 때문이다. 이런 일들은 시대마다 번복될 것이다. 그런 난리를 보면서 세상의 끝이 왔다고 호들갑 떨지 말라. 팬더믹은 종말의 징조가 아니다. 현실도피용으로 징조의 과대 해석을 사용하지 말자. 성전 멸망이 있기 전에 제자들은 주의 이름 때문에 핍박을 당할 것이다.

세상 통치자와 권력자만 아니라 모든 사람, 심지어 가족과 친구까지 성도들을 핍박할 것이다. 외면하고 미워할 뿐 아니라 죽음에 넘겨주기까지 할 것이다. 이것 역시 결정적인 징조는 아니다.성전 멸망 직전만이 아니라 주님 오시기 전까지 언제 어디서나 이런 반대와 핍박은 있을 것이다. 하지만 걱정 없다. 주님은 인내하는 성도들의 영혼과 영원한 생명을 지켜주실 것이기 때문이다.

Not only the world's rulers and powerful, but also all people, even family and friends, will persecute the saints. They will not only turn away and hate, but also hand them over to death. Again, this is not a decisive sign. Not only just before the destruction of the Holy Land, but also until the Lord's arrival, there will be such opposition and persecution anytime, anywhere. But there is no worry. Because the Lord will protect the souls and eternal lives of the enduring saints.

그 고난을 보증 증거의 기회로 삼게 하시고, 모든 대적이 대항하거나 반박할 수 없는 구변과 지혜를 주실 것이다. 수세에 물린 영적 곤경과 고난 속에서도 궁색한 변명과 변증이 아닌 복음과 성령의 능력을 드러내는 예수의 증인으로 살아가야 한다. 마지막까지 무너지지 않기 위해 어떻게 해야 할까?

사치와 거짓이 난무한 내 성전이 무너질 때, 하나님이 의도하신 참 성전이 내 안에 비로소 만들어지는 이치를 배웁니다. 이제 육신을 십자가에 못 박아 없애기 위해 감람산에서 고별 설교를 하시려는 우리 주님처럼 나도 현재의 육신에 안주하지 말고 미래의 부활에 동참하게 하옵소서. 그리하여 그날 까지 거짓된 가르침에 미혹되지 않고 인내로서 새로운 성전이 되게 하옵소서.

When my temple, which is full of luxury and lies, collapses, I learn the reason why God's intended temple is made in me.
