Can gender socialization solve gender gap in society ??

Many people believe that gender socialization can solve gender gap. For instance, in modern society women take the right to vote, get a job in any sort of and be a leaders such as Hillary Cliton and Sarah Palin. However gender socialization is clearly not living up to its name. It can not be a solution "discrimination" against women in modern society particularly korea.

Korea is a very male-oriented society based on its deeply rooted confucianism. Korean men have much higher place than women do in government, in jobs, in pay. Therefore, Korean women have limited job opportunities. Many korea companies don't want to employ women after their late 20s because they will get married and get births soon. Korea becomes a gender socialization, the problems have been addressed over the years but many still remain. Continues to discriminate against women in working on their jobs. In other part, we have to look at how this unequality can be fixed. Korean women can have build in career a variety of fields equality with men, but they still have a long way to go in closing the gender gap. Even some progress has been made in the world of business, in politics, and in the society in general, but korean women still lag far behind men when it comes to equal treatment under the law. This was too plain to see in a report on the income gap in Korea that came out in early 2007. It revealed that Korean men made an average of 36 million won per annual pay while the salaries in other hand Korean women averaged 36.9% lower, at just 24 million won. In addition another research showed an income gap between men and women at about 25% in the USA and just 15% in the EU. It's always been accepted that Korean men should earn more money than women.

To sum up, gender socialization does not matter. Whatever many people says, gender socialization can solve gender gap. And yet it is not happening. Till now, many women have hardly time in their office and suffer from being discriminate.
