첫댓글 The title of the book is "Helen Keller's Tough Childhood."
The main character is Helen Keller. In 1882, a little girl named Helen Keller in Alabama contracted scarlet fever. She quickly recovered, but the illness left her blind and deaf. She would never see or hear her mother again.
By the age of six, Helen had learned how to say over sixty household objects with her hands. Not being able to see or hear was very frustrating for Helen. Helen's mom worried about her terrible temper tantrums. It was time to get some help. She sought the help of Anne Sullivan.

Anne Sullivan wanted to teach Helen how to communicate. She taught Helen how to spell W A T E R by spelling the word into her hand. As she grew up, Helen and Anne traveled the world together. Helen loved to set herself challenges. She used her extraordinary sense of touch to help her listen. Helen became the first blind and deaf person to get a degree.
I think this book is an incredible story that shows anything is possible.
