A Ornate Sunbird began constructing a nest outside of the Y3 classroom.

During my the Chinese New Year holiday a beautiful Ornate Sunbird began constructing a nest outside of the Year 3 classroom.

The staff at Uplands decided to help her and build a little barricade around her nest. Students excitedly watched her constructing her nest all last week.

This past weekend she laid her eggs and now we are watching her incubate them! In a few weeks she should have some cute little babies.

The Year 3 students who watch her from their classroom window are named her “Sunny” the Sunbird!

This is an amazing learning opportunity not just for Uplands students, but also for staff and parents who haven’t before had the opportunity to watch a bird so close.

CNY 홀리데이 기간 중에 3학년 교실 밖에  Ornate Sunbird (태양새)가 집을 짓기 시작했습니다.  스태프들은 이 어여쁜 새들을 지키기로 했습니다.  알을 낳고 부화하여 이쁜 새끼가 태어났답니다.. 3학년 학생들은 써니라고 이름을 지었습니다.
