81 years since Pearl Harbour, centenarian survivor refuses to be called a hero

This is 101-yearold former US Navy sailor cheated death 81 years ago.
He was at Pearl Harbour when Japan bombed the US naval base in Hawaii on December 7, 1941...formally drawing the US into World War II.
Lou Contor lost hundreds of his crewmates aboard the USS Arizona, which sank in the attack.
Hailed a hero, Lou however says he does not deseve the label
Lou Contor: December 7th is a very big day.
And the 2,403 military men that were killed that day should get the recognition above everybody.
They gave their life and they gave their all.
And of those 2,403 men who got killed 1,177 were on the Arizona and shipmates of mine.
Over the years, Contor has attended the annual memorial ceremony in Hawaii.
Lou Contor: We're not heroes.
They call us heroes but we're not.
It's the 2,403 men that died are the heroes.
And we've got to honor them ahead of everybody else.
After Pearl Harbour, Contor became a pilot and fought in nearly 200 battles.
At the end of the 1950s, he was appointed a 1st officer of the US Navy SERE... which stands for Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape.
He spent the next 10 years training soldiers how to survive behind enemy lines.
He guidance helped his students endure years as prisoners of war in Vietnam.
