전도서6장 말씀입니다.

[사랑하는 나의 가족]

[바이블 애플] KJV 흠정역 전도서6장

1. 내가 해 아래에서 본 한 가지 악이 있는데 그것은 사람들 가운데 공통적으로 있는 것이라.

There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it [is] common among men:

2. 어떤 사람은 [하나님]께서 부와 재물과 명예를 주셨으므로 자기 혼을 위해 자기가 바라는 모든 것에 부족함이 없으나

    [하나님]께서 그것을 먹을 권능을 그에게 주지 아니하셨으므로 낯선 자가 그것을 먹나니 이것은 헛된 것이며 그것은

    악한 병이로다.

A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this [is] vanity, and it [is] an evil disease.

3. 비록 사람이 백 명의 자식을 낳고 또 여러 해를 살아 그의 햇수의 날들이 많을지라도 그의 혼이 좋은 것으로 채워지지

    못하고 또 그가 묻히지도 못하면 내가 말하건대 유산된 자가 그보다 나으니라.

If a man beget an hundred [children], and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also [that] he have no burial; I say, [that] an untimely birth [is] better than he.

4. 그는 헛되이 왔다가 어둠 속에서 떠나므로 그의 이름이 어둠으로 덮일 것이요,

For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.

5. 더욱이 그는 해도 보지 못하였고 아무것도 알지 못하였으므로 이 사람이 저 사람보다 더 많은 안식을 누리느니라.

Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known [any thing]: this hath more rest than the other.

6. 참으로 그가 천 년을 두 번 살지라도 여전히 좋은 것을 보지 못하였으니 모든 사람이 한 곳으로 가지 아니하느냐?

Yea, though he live a thousand years twice [told], yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?

7. 사람의 모든 수고는 그의 입을 위한 것이나 식욕은 채울 수 없느니라.

All the labour of man [is] for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled. 

8. 지혜로운 자가 어리석은 자보다 더 많이 가진 것이 무엇이냐? 산 자들 앞에서 걸을 줄 아는 가난한 자가 가진 것이

    무엇이냐?

For what hath the wise more than the fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living?

9. 눈으로 보는 것이 욕망으로 인해 헤매는 것보다 나으나 이것도 헛되며 영을 괴롭게 하는 것이로다.

Better [is] the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this [is] also vanity and vexation of spirit. 

10. 지금까지 존재한 것에는 이미 이름이 붙어 있고 그것이 사람이라는 것도 알려졌나니 그는 자기보다 강하신 이와

      다투지 못하느니라.

That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it [is] man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he.

11. 헛된 것을 증대시키는 일이 많이 있음을 보거니와 무엇이 사람을 더 낫게 만들리요?

Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what [is] man the better?

12. 현재의 삶 곧 사람이 헛된 생명의 모든 날을 그림자처럼 보내는 삶 속에서 사람에게 무엇이 좋은지 누가 알리요?

      해 아래에서 사람의 뒤를 따라 무슨 일이 있을지 누가 능히 그에게 고하리요?

For who knoweth what [is] good for man in [this] life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?
