오늘 전례

오늘은 복자 윤지충 바오로와 123위의 동료 순교 복자들을 기념하는 날이다. 이 124위 복자들은 103위 성인에 포함되지는 않았지만, 순교 사실이 새롭게 드러나고 각 지역에서 현양되던 한국 천주교회의 초기 순교자들이다.

대표 순교자인 윤지충 복자의 순교일은 12월 8일이지만, 이날은 한국 교회의 수호자, 원죄 없이 잉태되신 복되신 동정 마리아 대축일이다. 이 때문에 한국 교회는 그가 속한 전주교구의 순교자들이 많이 순교한 5월 29일을 기념일로 정하고 순교자 현양을 위하여 성대하게 지내도록 하였다. 한편 교구장의 재량에 따라 성 바오로 6세 교황 기념일도 선택하여 거행할 수 있게 하였다(주교회의 2019년 추계 정기 총회).

나 요한은
10 하늘에서 큰 목소리가 이렇게 말하는 것을 들었습니다.
“이제 우리 하느님의 구원과 권능과 나라와
그분께서 세우신 그리스도의 권세가 나타났다.
우리 형제들을 고발하던 자,
하느님 앞에서 밤낮으로 그들을 고발하던 그자가 내쫓겼다.
11 우리 형제들은 어린양의 피와 자기들이 증언하는 말씀으로
그자를 이겨 냈다.
그들은 죽기까지 목숨을 아끼지 않았다.
12 그러므로 하늘과 그 안에 사는 이들아, 즐거워하여라.”

거룩하신 아버지, 전능하시고 영원하신 주 하느님,
언제나 어디서나 아버지께 감사함이

복된 순교자 윤지충 바오로와 동료 순교자들은 주님을 현양하려고
그리스도를 본받아 피를 흘려 주님의 위대하심을 드러내었나이다.

Reading I

Acts 18:1-8

Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.
There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus,
who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla
because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome.
He went to visit them and, because he practiced the same trade,
stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.
Every sabbath, he entered into discussions in the synagogue,
attempting to convince both Jews and Greeks.

When Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia,
Paul began to occupy himself totally with preaching the word,
testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.
When they opposed him and reviled him,
he shook out his garments and said to them,
“Your blood be on your heads!
I am clear of responsibility.
From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
So he left there and went to a house
belonging to a man named Titus Justus, a worshiper of God;
his house was next to a synagogue.
Crispus, the synagogue official, came to believe in the Lord
along with his entire household, and many of the Corinthians
who heard believed and were baptized.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“A little while and you will no longer see me,

‘A little while and you will not see me,

and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?”
So they said, “What is this ‘little while’ of which he speaks?
We do not know what he means.”
Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them,
“Are you discussing with one another what I said,
‘A little while and you will not see me,
and again a little while and you will see me’?
Amen, amen, I say to you,
you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices;
you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.”
