Bible Reading - Acts 12:18~25

12:18 In the morning, there was no small commotion among the soldiers as to what(어떻게 되었는지에 대해) had become of Peter.

아침이 되자 병사들 사이에서는 베드로가 어떻게 되었는지에 대한 소동이 적지 않았다.

12:19 After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, 

헤롯은 그를 찾기 위해 철저한 수색을 벌였지만 찾지 못했다.

he cross-examined the guards and ordered that they be executed.

그는 경비병들을 심문한 후 사형을 명령했다.

Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there a while.

그리고 나서 헤롯은 유대에서 가이사랴로 가서 한 동안 거기에서 머물렀다.

12:20 He had been quarreling with the people of Tyre and Sidon;

그는 두로와 시돈 사람들과 말다툼을 했다.

they now joined together and sought an audience with him.

그들은 이제 함께 모여 그를 만나려 했다.

Having secured the support of Blastus, a trusted personal servant of the king,

왕의 신뢰를 받고 있는 신하인 블라스투스의 지지를 확보함으로

they asked for peace,  그들은 평화를 요청하였다,

because they depended on the king's country for their food supply.

왜냐하면 그들의 식량공급을 왕의 나라에 의존하고 있었기 때문이다. 

12:21 On the appointed day(정한 날짜에) Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people.

정한 날짜에 왕복을 입은 헤롯은 그의 왕좌에 앉아서 사람들에게 공중 연설을 했다.

12:22 They shouted, "This is the voice of a god, not of a man."

그들은 "이것은 신의 목소리이며 사람의 소리가 아니다."라고 외쳤다.

12:23 Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, 

헤롯이 하나님께 찬양을 드리지 않았기 때문에 즉시, 

an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.

주님의 천사가 그를 쳤고 그리고 그는 벌레에 먹혀져서 죽었다.

12:24 But the word of God continued to increase and spread.

그러나 하나님의 말씀은 왕성하여 계속 퍼졌다.

12:25 When Barnabas and Saul had finished their mission, 

바나바와 사울이 그들의 과업(선교)를 끝냈을 때

they returned from Jerusalem, taking with them John, also called Mark.

그들은 또한 마가라고  불리우는 요한을 데리고 예루살렘으로 돌아왔다.
