Bible Reading - Acts 13:42~52

42 As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue,

바울과 바나바가 회당을 떠나고 있을 때에 

the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath.

사람들이 다음 안식일에 이러한 것들에 대해 더 말하도록 그들을 초대했다.

43 When the congregation was dismissed, 회중이 해산되고서 

many of the Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who talked with them and urged them to continue in the grace of God. 많은 유대인들과 유대교로 개종한 헌신된 개종자들이 그들에게 말하며 하나님의 은혜 안에 계속 머물라고 촉구했던 바울과 바나바를 따랐다.

44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.

다음 안식일에 거의 모든 시의 사람들이 주님의 말씀을 들으려고 모였다.

45 When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy.

유대인들이 군중들을 보고서 질투심이 가득찼다.

They began to contradict(반대하다) what Paul was saying and heaped abuse(욕설을 퍼붓다) on him.

그들은 바울이 말하고 있었던 것을 반대하기 시작했고 그에게 욕설을 퍼부었다.

46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly:

그때 바울과 바나바는 그들에게 담대하게 대답했다.

“We had to speak the word of God to you first.

우리는 하나님의 말씀을 너희에게 먼저 말해야만했다.

Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life,

너희가 그것을 거절하고 너희 자신들이 영생을 무가치하게 여겼기 때문에 

we now turn to the Gentiles. 우리는 이방인들에게로 지금 돌아선다.

47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us:

이것이 주님께서 우리에게 명령하신 것이다. 

“ ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,나는 너희들을 이방인들을 위한 빛으로 만들었다.

that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” 너희가 땅 끝으로 구원을 가져올 것이다. 

48 When the Gentiles heard this,이방인들이 이것을 듣고서 

they were glad and honored the word of the Lord;

그들은 기뻐하며 주님의 말씀을 존중했다.

and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

그리고 영생을 위해 지명되어진 모든 사람들은 믿었다.

49 The word of the Lord spread through the whole region.

주님의 말씀이 온 지역에 두루 퍼졌다.

50 But the Jewish leaders incited(선동하다) the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. 그러나 유대 지도자들은 하나님을 경외하는 고위층 여성들과 도시의 유력 인사들을 선동했다.

They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region.

그들은 바울과 바나바를 박해하도록 선동했고, 그들을 그 지역에서 쫓아냈다.

51 So they shook the dust off their feet as a warning to them and went to Iconium.

그래서 그들은 그들에게 경고로서 발에 먼지를 흔들어 떨어뜨렸고 이고니움으로 갔다.

52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

그리고 제자들은 기쁨과 성령으로 충만했다.
