11. When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”
군중이 바울이 행한 것을 보고 루가오니아 언어로 "신들이 사람의 형태로 우리에게 내려 왔다."고 외쳤다.

12. Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker.
그들은 바나바를 제우스라고 그리고 바울은 주요 연설자였기에 헤르메스라고 불렀다.

13. The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.
도시 바로 외곽에 제우스 신전이 있는 곳의 제사장은 황소와 화환을 성문으로 가져왔는데, 그와 군중들은 제물을 그들에게 바치고 싶었기 때문이다.

14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting:

그러나 사도 바나바와 바울은 이것을 듣고서 그들의 옷을 찢고 군중 안으로 달려 나가 소리치기를

15 "Men, why are you doing this? 사람들아, 너희는 왜 이것을 행하고 있는가?

We too are only men, human like you. 우리도 너희와 같이 오직 사람일 뿐이다. 

We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them.

우리는 여러분들이 이 무익한 것들에서 돌아서서 하늘과 땅과 바다와 그 안에 있는 모든 것을 창조하신 살아 계신 하나님께로 향하라고 기쁜 소식을 전하고 있다.

16. In the past, he let all nations go their own way.

과거에 그는 모든 민족들이 그들 자신의 길로 가게하셨다.

17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony: 그러나 그는 증거 없이 그 자신을 남기지 않으셨다.

He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; 

그는 하늘에서 비를 내려주시고 제철에 곡식을 주심으로써 은혜를 베푸셨다.

he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy."

그는 풍성한 음식으로 너희에게 제공하셔서 기쁨으로 너희의 마음을 채우셨다.

18. Even with these words, they had difficulty keeping the crowd from sacrificing to them.

이러한 말에도 불구하고, 그들은 군중이 자신들에게 제물을 바치는 것을 막기 어려웠다.

19. Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over.

그때 안디옥과 이고니움에서 몇몇 유대인들이 와서 그 군중들을 충동질했다.

They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead.

그들은 바울에게 돌을 던지고 그를 도시 밖으로 끌어냈는데, 그가 죽었다고 생각했기 때문이다.

20. But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city.

그러나 제자들이 그의 주변에 모인 후에, 그는 깨어나서 시내로 다시 돌아 들어갔다.

The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe. 다음 날 그와 바나바는 더베로 떠났다.
