A Morning Filled with Memories: A Cup of Coffee, a World of Memories

Today, I woke up unexpectedly before dawn.

As always, I started my morning with a simple breakfast of oatmeal and eggs. Then, with a warm cup of coffee in hand, I stood by the window, quietly looking out toward the Oryukdo Lighthouse in the distance.

Along with my coffee, I enjoyed a slice of traditional Dutch Bussink cake and some delicious cookies lovingly baked by Fleur from Belgium.

With every bite, memories of the wonderful people I met during my stay in the Netherlands came back to me—the training we shared, the laughter around the dinner table, the warm hospitality, and the thoughtful gifts.

It reminded me once again that the greatest gifts in life are not things, but the people we meet and the memories we create together.

As I gaze at the Oryukdo Lighthouse, I quietly wish that these precious friendships will continue to grow for many years to come.

2026. 7. 12 | Morning at Oryukdo

오늘은 느닷없이 이른 새벽에 눈이 떠졌다.

늘 그렇듯 오트밀과 계란으로 간단히 아침을 챙기고, 따뜻한 커피 한 잔을 들고 창가에 섰다.

창밖에는 언제나처럼 오륙도와 등대가 조용히 아침을 맞이하고 있다.

커피와 함께 네덜란드에서 가져온 전통 빵(Bussink) 한 조각, 그리고 벨기에 Fleur가 정성껏 구워 선물해 준 쿠키를 하나씩 맛본다.

한 입 한 입 먹을 때마다 이번 네덜란드에서 만났던 많은 사람들이 자연스럽게 떠오른다.

함께 땀 흘리며 수련했던 시간, 웃음이 끊이지 않았던 식사 자리, 따뜻한 환대와 작은 선물들….

사람은 결국 사람을 통해 가장 큰 선물을 받는다는 것을 다시 한번 느낀다.

멀리 오륙도 등대를 바라보며, 그 감사한 인연들이 앞으로도 오래도록 이어지기를 조용히 기원해 본다.
