문제와 강점, 어느 쪽을 볼까요?

문제를 보고 그 문제를 다루는 데 필요한 강점을 볼 때도 있고, 예비 강점을 보고 그로써 다룰 만한 문제를 볼 때도 있습니다.

문제와 상관없이 적극적 사업을 벌이는 경우가 아니면, 문제를 보지 않고는 강점을 말할 수 없고 문제보다 강점을 보자고 할 수도 없습니다.

Without problems to be addressed, we cannot identify strengths, nor can we call something a strength.

In social work, we may see problems and then look for strengths that may help address them; or we may see (potential) strengths and then look for problems that can be addressed with them.

Unless we are to achieve positive welfare without regard to problems, we cannot identify strengths without seeing problems, nor does it make sense to suggest that we should focus on strengths rather than problems, or shift focus away from problems toward strengths. - Han
