USA JSKR Haedong Kumdo Seminar, April 6-7, 2024
Our school, Sykesville Family Tae Kwon Do and Haedong Kumdo, was represented by three people who attended the USA JSKR HDKD seminar graciously hosted by Master Robert Frankovich.
Grand Master Kim taught at the seminar; participating was an education and a pleasure.
Grand Master Kim's teachings were not just theoretical but had immediate practical applications.
He demonstrated the connection between the mind, body, and ki flow through various techniques, including empty hand, single sword, and double sword.
His explanation about the sword movements that naturally guided us to raise and lower the sword was instrumental and immediately incorporated into our school’s practice.
As always, Ki Mu training was an important part of the seminar, and we went through all 12 of the original exercises.
In addition, we performed baldo and chakkom exercises with double swords—two swords on one side and one sword on each side.
The seminar was more than just a learning experience. It was a platform for building connections and fostering a sense of community.
We had the privilege of bonding with other sword students and appreciating the hospitality of White Tiger Martial Arts.
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and deepen our understanding of JSKR Haedong Kumdo's fundamentals.
