Year 4 Exit Point - Young Entrepreneurs

What a way to round out IPC this year! The Year 4’s have learnt so much as part of our Young Entrepreneurs unit. They explored the key aspects of teamwork, including the importance of good leadership, delegation and effective communication between group members. The initial task seemed simple - how could we buy cereal that could then be sold at our breakfast club? The answer, however, proved surprisingly complex, with answers drawing upon many important aspects of entrepreneurship. There was the design stage, in which children had to think about which ingredients would help them create a tasty snack and one that would stand out from competing groups. They then had to consider their budget. After receiving a loan of RM70 from Mr Towse, they began to recognise the difference between earning money and earning a profit. Finally, they needed to think about effective marketing and promotion of their product, which meant careful consideration with respect to the design of their breakfast club stalls, with some children even coordinating uniforms to reinforce their brand! All in all, the children raised a staggering RM2000+! The proceeds of which were used to pay back their loan and even fund their own end-of-year trip to a cinema. A real treat!

올해 IPC를 마무리할 수 있는 방법이네요! 올해 4학년은 젊은 창업가 유닛의 일원으로서 많은 것을 배웠습니다. 그들은 좋은 리더십, 위임, 그룹 구성원 간의 효과적인 소통 등 팀워크의 주요 측면을 탐구했습니다. 초기 과제는 간단해 보였습니다. 그렇다면 아침 클럽에서 판매할 수 있는 시리얼을 어떻게 구입할 수 있을까요? 하지만 그 해답은 놀라울 정도로 복잡했으며, 기업가 정신의 여러 중요한 측면을 바탕으로 답을 도출했습니다. 디자인 단계에서는 어떤 재료가 맛있는 간식을 만드는 데 도움이 될지, 경쟁 그룹에서 눈에 띄는 재료가 될지 고민해야 했습니다. 그런 다음 예산을 고려해야 했습니다. 토우즈 씨로부터 RM70을 대출받은 후, 그들은 돈을 버는 것과 수익을 얻는 것의 차이를 인식하기 시작했습니다. 마지막으로, 그들은 효과적인 마케팅과 제품 홍보에 대해 고민해야 했고, 이는 아침 클럽 가판대 디자인에 대한 신중한 고려를 의미했으며, 일부 어린이들은 브랜드 강화를 위해 유니폼을 코디하기도 했습니다! 결국 아이들은 엄청난 RM2000+를 모금했습니다! 그 수익금은 대출금을 갚고 연말 영화관 여행 자금을 마련하는 데 사용되었습니다. 정말 감사합니다!
