올해 세계 자연 사진상(World Nature Photography Awards)의 수상 사진과 사진작가가 방금 발표되었다. 콘테스트 주최 측은 아래에 표시된 14개 부문의 우승 사진 중 일부를 다시 한 번 공유하도록 했다. 표제는 사진작가가 제공했으며 스타일과 명확성을 위해 가볍게 편집되었다.

The winning images and photographers of this year’s World Nature Photography Awards have just been announced. Contest organizers have once more shared some of the winning images, shown below, from their 14 categories. Captions were provided by the photographers and have been lightly edited for style and clarity.

3. Winner, Behavior—Mammals. A mother zebra and her foal are attacked by a cheetah in Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. "That morning, we decided to follow four cheetahs on the hunt. We followed them for hours. We passed herds of topis, gazelles, and zebras. We knew something was going to happen. When, five hours later, our Maasai guide whispered, ‘They are going for the zebras,’ I was convinced they would attack the topis or gazelles dotted across the valley. Seconds later, the cheetahs burst into a small group of zebras. One cheetah ran toward us, clinging onto a foal. In those seconds, I took this picture of the mother zebra launching a last attempt to push her foal away from the attacking cheetah. She failed. "그날 아침, 우리는 사냥하는 네 마리의 치타를 따라 가기로 결정했다. 우리는 몇 시간 동안 그들을 따라갔다. 토피(큰 남아프리카 영양), 가젤, 얼룩말 무리를 지나쳤다. 우리는 무슨 일이 일어날 것이라는 것을 알았다. 다섯 시간 후 우리 마사이족 가이드가 속삭였다. 🦌다말리스쿠스 루나투스 지멜라(Damaliscus lunatus jimela)는 토피의 한 종류이고, 보통 토피라고 불린다. 그것은 사하라 사막 이남의 아프리카의 사바나, 반 사막, 그리고 범람원에서 발견되는 매우 사회적이고 빠른 영양의 한 종류이다.

😸빈투롱(Arctictis binturong)은 남아시아와 동남아시아 원산의 사향고양이과 동물로 베어캣이라고도 불린다. 흔하게 보이는 동물은 아니며 국제 자연보전연맹(IUCN) 적색목록에 "취약" 등급으로 등재되어 있다. 지난 30년간 개체수의 30% 이상이 사라진 것으로 생각된다. 빈투롱은 빈투롱속의 유일종으로서 단형종이다.

🍄디스미아(Thismia)는 버마니과(Burmanniaceae)에 속하는 균종영양식물의 한 속으로, 1845년에 처음으로 기술되었다. 원산지는 동아시아 및 동남아시아, 뉴기니, 호주, 뉴질랜드 및 아메리카이다.
