Probably because it's Korean.

We rarely use plural forms in the Korean language. It doesn't make sense for us to say '10,000원들' instead of '10,000원'. That's why we say 10,000won rather than 10,000wons when speaking in English.

The same goes for 'Euro', actually. They say 1,000euro, not 1,000euros.(Some people say 1,000euros, though) And I remember an article in a British newspaper, which said that 1,000euro sounds wrong to their ears, so it should be 1,000euros. Anyway, that's the way they sort of agreed upon when they first introduced Euro.

So, you don't need to worry about this. It's just that that's the way they say it.

Monetary unit in Korea, 원(won) concerned I'm confused a little.

When we say other countries unit we say as follows.

1 dollar, 2 dollars....
<br>
1 pisco, 2 piscos...
<br>
1 cent, 2 cents.... things like that as plural. But I know in light of 원, we don't say ,

1 won, 2 wons. We say 1 won, 2 won, 1000 won, 2000 won....always as singular. Why is that?
