Hi~
Good morning!
The negation of a negation does not always mean affirmation but I understand it normally does.
A few days ago, I came across the following sentence
"Do not take nothing from nobody."
With three negatives in such a short sentence, the meaning is confusing.
Could you translate it for me?
Any comment is welcome!!
Have a great 불금!
첫댓글 I think...
the speaker is telling the listener not to accept anything from anyone, so it seems a kind of warning to be careful about accepting gifts or favors from strangers.
Sorry 해뜰님.
"negation" I can not translate.. because of It is a word I rarely use. ㅎ
그래도 해석좀 해보세요 ㅎ
What does don't take nothing from nobody mean?

The phrase "Don't take nothing from nobody" is a colloquial expression that means to be independent and self-sufficient.
This is what I found from googling.
That's an interesting point.
I think the objects of negation are different. I'll do it like this
"누구에게서도 아무것도 받지마라"
I think it is a very weird sentence, my goal is still too far.....ㅠ
