Bible Reading - Acts 19:1~10

19:1 While Apollos was at Corinth, 아볼로가 고린도에 있는 동안,

Paul took the road through the interior(내부를 통과하여) and arrived at Ephesus. 

바울은 내륙을 통과하는 길로 가서 에베소에 도착했다.

There he found some disciples
19:2 and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?"

거기서 그는 몇몇 제자들을 발견하고 "너희가 믿을 때에 성령을 받았는가?"하고 그들에게 물었다.

They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."

그들은 "아닙니다. 우리는 성령께서 계시다는 것을 듣지도 못했습니다."라고 대답했다.

19:3 So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" 

그래서 바울이 "그러면 너희는 무슨 세례를 받았느냐?"하고 물었다.

"John's baptism," they replied. "요한의 세례입니다."하고 그들이 대답했다.

19:4 Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. 

바울은 "요한의 세례는 회개의 세례이다. 

He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus."

그는 그의 뒤에 오시는 한 분, 즉 예수를 믿도록 사람들에게 말했다."고 말했다.

19:5 On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

이것을 듣고서 그들은 주 예수의 이름으로 세례를 받았다.

19:6 When Paul placed his hands on them, 바울이 그들에게 안수하였을 때에 

the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

성령께서 그들 위에 임하셨고, 그들은 방언으로 말하며 예언을 했다.

19:7 There were about twelve men in all. 거기에 전부 열두사람쯤 있었다.

19:8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.

바울은 회당에 들어가 석 달 동안 담대하게 말하며, 하나님의 나라에 관해 설득력 있게 논증했다.

19:9 But some of them became obstinate; 그러나 그들 중에 몇 사람은 완고하게 되었다,

they refused to believe and publicly maligned(악담하다) the Way.

그들은 믿기를 거절하고 그 도(복음)를 공개적으로 악담했다.

 So Paul left them. 그래서 바울은 그들에게서 떠났다.

He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

그는 그와 함께한 제자들을 데리고 두란노 강의실에서 매일 토론회를 가졌다.

19:10 This went on for two years, 이것이 2년 동안 계속되어서 

so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.

아시아 지방에서 살았던 유대인들과 그리스인들 모두가 주님의 말씀을 들었다.
